An expensive world-class outlet for the fashion luxury brand, even getting a pair of sunglasses here will cost quite a pretty penny. Often you will find fashion designers here, examining clothes and learning from the best.

She had never been to this part of London. The endless rain was enough to keep her inside. Ana María hated the cold. It was profound dislike, especially because she couldn't do anything about it. It wasn't the type of weather she was used to. Back home the rain was warm, the sun radiated with comfortable degrees and she didn't have to walk around in endless coats. That's mostly where all her money went. Winter clothing had remained inexistent up to that point. She could only begin to wish for Spring to come around. If it was just raining that was ok, she could tolerate that, but if it was raining and cold she would just bury herself inside her sheets and hibernate until summer.
She must really want to stay there, otherwise she wouldn't be standing an environment that was entirely different from her own. But London was more than just rain. It was also fun. And being here, in the United Kingdom, hundred of miles away from her country, it made her feel free to do as she pleased. She was a twenty-one year old woman who was beginning to understand what it meant to be responsible for herself and herself only. So much liberty would be overwhelming for someone who had always been deprived from it, but to Ana María it had quite the opposite effect. She couldn't get enough of it.
The girl had spent about a year in the city, and she had still had trouble going her way. One of her many goals was to get to know the capital like her hometown. Know every corner and street as someone who was born and raised would know. The town in which we live becomes a part of us, it plays an important role in who we are. She wanted to make this her home away from home. Just like Gertrude Stein had said: "America is my country, but Paris is my home town."
Ana María sighed as she walked through Sloane Street. She looked at the names of the stores and how pretty their clothes were. It was clearly this was meant for someone who had a bigger budget than her. She had never been one to have much money. Throughout most of her teenage years she spent it without no money at all for cafeteria food or if she wanted to buy a CD. She had grown used to it. But one day she would have some money saved up to do what she pleased with it.
Ana María walked slowly, and did what the English speakers would call "window shopping". She imagined herself wearing some of the fancy clothes and shoes and have her closet organized by colors and trends and seasons. After all, she did like stuff.
After a while she stopped when her breath was taken away by something that caught her eye. It was a beautiful black dress. It was displayed on the window. It looked so elegant and sophisticated. Ana María loved little black dresses, dresses in general really. She took a step closer to the window but kept her distance as to not push her face against the glass. So pretty. She couldn't take her eyes of it. Ana María bet it would look good on her figure. She wasn't oblivious to her beauty, she knew she looked good, and this dress, if she could buy it, would make her feel like a princess. And isn't that what every girl wants? To be a princess. We spent our whole lives trying to make ourselves feel that way.

It had been a rather ordinary day for Antonio. He was on one of his (very rare) “days off”. Ah, how he loved the days when he didn’t have to worry about being shot or stabbed or to hear the sounds of bombs going off behind him… that is, of course, unless he was being tracked. It wasn’t uncommon for his relaxing breaks to be cut short by someone who has it out for him and makes an attempt on his life. Hey, an agent’s work is never done.
Anyways, the point is, Antonio did love his occasional days off… it was a time for rest, relaxation, and recuperation…
…Aw, who was he kidding; he hated having nothing to do for a couple days! His hands were just itching to work. It was similar to how a smoker might have the deep, burning sensation to skillfully flick open a lighter and ignite a cigarette with two swift movements. It completely went against Antonio’s dexterity and his love for always doing some form of physical labor! It left him bored out of his mind! It aggravated him to no end! It… it….
Heaving a deep sigh, Antonio ran his fingers through his shaggy brown locks in an attempt to keep his composure. That was why he decided to go for a walk through the city in the first place. He needed desperately to find something to keep himself busy, be it his mind or his body. The last thing the Spaniard wanted to think about right now was how much he wished he could go to work and do the job he loved.
As he took long strides across the pavement, Antonio almost found himself walking right past a familiar face. He stopped dead in his tracks and his eyelids fluttered in confused blinks. Looking over his shoulder, Antonio caught sight of a lovely lady a few years his younger who he recognized right on the spot. It was his darling Ana!
Without even thinking, Antonio swung his body around and he swept Ana María up into his arms. “Ana, mi hermana~!? ¡Dios mío! Just look at how much you’ve grown!” He cried out, his arms wrapped around her waist to keep her close, as he pulled her into his chest. He didn’t even stop to contemplate how his “younger sister” might react to suddenly being grabbed by (who she could only assume to be) a complete stranger at first.

It was really such a pretty dress. If Ana María was acting out of spontaneity she would probably buy it, and then wear it to everywhere she went, even work, and then have all the guys see something worth while. Or wear it at home, and in a classy manner remind her oh so nice and comforting family just how well she was doing thousands of miles away. Rub in their faces. Just once, that's all she needed. The look on their faces had to be priceless. And then maybe they would shut up for once and keep their silly comments to themselves, because she really did not care what they had to say, not anymore.
But it was expensive to just buy it right then and there, and she did need her wages to pay for her household expenses and food. Who knew that living in London would be so expensive. It certainly wasn't Mexico City. Ana María remembered the first days of her arrival, how finding an apartment she could afford was absolutely tedious. It made her never want to move ever again. Plus, the nice English people had a hard time understanding her accent.
This would be so much easier if she had chosen Spain as her getaway country.
Maybe if she put it on hold and then pay it little by little she could still get it. It was certainly the most boring wise thing to do, but she really had no option. As she was ready to walk into the store, try it on and hope for the best, she felt how someone wrapped their arms around her waist and swung her off her feet. Before reacting to what was happening, Ana María let out a small squeal, for she was taken entirely by surprise. Her mind raced trying to figure out what was going on. Maybe she was being kidnapped or something, because British people aren't into public displays of affection of such magnitude. At least not that she knew off.
When she realized that a kidnapping was out of order because there wasn't the usual hand in mouth sort of thing that she saw in movies, she figured it was probably someone she knew, for the person, which she imagined was a guy (because a girl wouldn't be able to hold her with no effort) was holding her close to his chest.
"Ana, mi hermana~?! '¡Dios mío! Just look at how much you've grown!"
It was as though her question had been answered when she heard the stranger's voice. It was a voice she'd recognized anywhere. English accent aside, his Spanish was right on the spot. It was so different from hers, and undeniably from only one part of the world. Ana María smiled as she wrapped her own arms around him.
"Antonio! I can't believe you're here! It's been ages! I've missed you so much!"[/color]

Antonio held Ana close and spun her around, attracting the eyes of a couple people on the street. Opening his eyes and peering around, Antonio noticed what a scene the two seemed to be making. It must’ve looked like the reunion in a sappy chick flick, or so he guessed. Antonio smiled and looked down at Ana. He set her down at his feet, placing both hands on her shoulders and staring into her eyes. “Jeez, you’ve grown up so fast! I can’t believe this!” He laughed and slapped a hand to his own forehead. “Who would’ve guessed we’d meet in a completely different country than our own homes!”
Antonio’s hand slid off Ana María’s shoulder and he tilted his head to look at her lop-sided. It rose a good question in the Spaniard’s head; what was Ana doing here in this foreign country? England was also particularly far from her home country, considering a large ocean kept her parted from the European continent, let alone Britain.
“Come, come! Tell me what brings you here to England!” The cheerful grin never left his face. Surely Ana didn’t move here on a whim? Was it possible that she was just here on a vacation, as a tourist? She was just a child, at least in Antonio’s eyes. He didn’t understand how Ana María could move so far away from home without his knowing.

Ana María watched the green eyes of the person in front of her and couldn't feel more at home. It was a feeling that she had missed without realizing she had actually missed it. The girl couldn't remember the last time she had met the Spaniard but it seemed like such a long time ago, so long in fact that it seemed like a blur in her mind. Ana María wrapped her arms around the boy and held on tightly like a small innocent child. He was a brother to her, every inch like a family member and how wished it for it to be official, if only not to be alone in that big family of hers back home.
"Come, come! Tell me what brings you here to England!"
Ana María was afraid that question would come out in the open. She wasn't particularly fond of expressing the reasons behind her actions or her reasons in particular. While her reason for coming to England wasn't embarrassing or anything of the matter, it still fell under the description of cowardice because she was to be honest with herself she did run away. But Antonio was someone she could trust and if she were to tell to anyone it would be him. Or at least that's what she wanted to believe.
The girl turned to look at that cheerful grin that never seemed to fade from his happy composure. Ana María envied that more than anything. She was a happy girl but this guy never seemed to have any issues. How did he do it? Except of course, he had to have something, everyone did. "Well I uh, I got a job offer about two years ago and well it is good money so." She sighed as she brushed the strands of hair that fell on her face. "Truth be told I kind of ran away from home. It was getting to be a little too much so I looked for a job and called my dad on my way to the airport to tell him. It was probably not my best idea but I still took it. I worked as a translator for a while and got a small place and I'm just taking it day by day. I should've probably finished school first actually."
The girl shrugged, thinking that it was better if she was just honest about it, come to terms with her decision. There wasn't much to it now and she surely didn't regret it. For the first time she actually felt in control of her decisions and her life. It was a good and scary feeling. "But I also hate the weather here" She said in a bit of a pouty face, attempting to lighten the mood.
