Dearest, darlingest TND members, We are aware that there has been a little bit of confusion lately, and we apologize for taking so long to put out an announcement about it. As you may have noticed, we now have a ❖ New Board As it says in the title, this board will be home to major arcs. While we do not yet have a specific idea on how arcs will be implemented, the board's purpose is to store major storylines in which several people and threads are involved. This is for the sake of organization. At the same time, we hope that these arcs will (a) involve many people's muses and add some excitement to some stagnating plots due to character drops and difficulties plotting, and (b) to restore the atmosphere of an espionage RP. As mentioned in the previous announcement, we have an arc in the works: ❖ Turf War Unfortunately, beyond the major ideas explained in the link, we do not yet have concrete details. There is currently a lot of discussion surrounding how this arc should be implemented in order to be as enjoyable as possible for all members, and how we may involve as many people as possible. Due to this, we've decided to put a poll for members to decide what "style" of plotting they would like best. The details are explained over at the link! On another note, since we've been running with the assumption that Turf War would center around pre-decided plots, we realize that there is an issue of people being left out of the loop and who do not know what the major plots surrounding the Turf War are. This seems to be mainly an issue on the Cbox, when people who have been gone awhile log back on and see plotting going on. Some members have been contacted about the possibility of using their muses in the arc, and thus know and were involved in the plotting of some details. Please note that none of this has been finalized yet, and we certainly plan on having an official explanation for what the TW is, how it works, and how to get involved once we know the community's preference. Once we have a framework in place, all this information shall be posted on an open thread for people to read and contribute. If you happen to be someone who is in the know about current plots regarding TW, please do us the favor of updating your fellow RPers. ❖ Communication If you recall from our previous announcement, we were planning on setting up a board to facilitate dialogue between members and staff. You may notice that this… has not been set up yet. In the meantime, it appears we have committed another communication faux pas. The arrival of the new board for major arcs was never announced and we have taken much too long to explain its purpose. The injury was only exacerbated by having a suddenly very active and very exclusive sub-board and arc plot flooding the [recent posts]. We completely understand members' frustration if they felt confused and excluded, and we apologize for it wholeheartedly. It was a decision that was made very rashly. The issue has been brought up, addressed, and it will not happen again. That said, we are also reiterating our promise to put up a board for member-staff communication. Please forgive us for the mishaps. With staff changes and new initiatives, we have been fumbling a bit with organization. Communication between us has also been quite faulty. Please be patient with us, and we will endeavor to right our mistakes. That said, onto the concrete stuff: ❖ The Concrete Stuff The September activity check is up! You can find it here. You may also notice that our OTMs are finally being updated again. Voting for September OTMs are located here and here. ❖ And a Reminder You should only be posting in the liquid board. Yes, the linear/liquid separation was removed awhile ago due to the elimination of linear threading, but for the sake of organization, please stick to using only the liquid board. A discussion about whether or not to reorganize the way locations are set up is under discussion, and we'll let you know the result. |
