[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 455px; margin-top: 10px; color: BABABA, true]Because of concerns raised, we have decided to run a poll: Would you want to switch this RP to Liquid, or stay Linear, the way it is? Liquid is when you can make your own threads and do as many threads as you want... of course, we have a compromise. Linear-Liquid. It's new, it's fresh, it shamwoohoo. The problem with Liquid is we might have to dismantle the Missions system, and what kind of spies don't do missions? Unpaid ones, that's what.
Linear-Liquid is basically having the important stuff, like official government business and missions, be linear. Because we can't have things straying around. And then having slice-of-life good fun stuff to build up some relationships as liquid. We'll have sub-boards for you guys... though don't you guys love our beautiful, well thought out, based on real London threads? D|
So yeah, think about where you want this RP to go. Do keep in mind how the RP will be changed... after all, given that this is a spy RP, we got to do a bunch of cool missions (we actually planned our crimes!)... or else we're just being badass and suave in London. Which is okay because we love being suave. But we'll see~
VOTE ONCE.

I say liquid-linear. It seems like the best of both worlds. I love the linear idea for the missions themselves. I feel it makes sense to have it that way with the way the rp is set up, and I wouldn't want you to switch that around.
However, when it comes to determining relationships, I have kinda noticed that it's hard to get much set up using the linear theme. I'd like 'for fun' threads, where characters are just meeting each other and such and it has nothing to do with missions, to be liquid.
So yus. Best of both worlds, I'd say. I also hope we're actually permitted to post here...if not, I can delete this. I just thought I'd share the reasoning behind my vote. XD

I'd say Liquid-Linear. Like Alfred said, the best of both worlds smacked into one. I love the idea of Linear missions, but the style makes it difficult to do both jobs and develop with other characters - especially those not involved in espionage.
I have a few things planned, but unless the "slice-of-life" stuff goes liquid I'm afraid that it'll be hard for any of it to ever happen... ;;

...Oh dear.
Well, the reason I was convinced to even join Tomorrow Never Dies was because it's a linear RP. I have a lot on my plate to do... But then again, I suppose the Liquid part would be optional... *sighs*
I'll vote in a little while, but I'm leaning towards the Liquid-Linear or just Linear.

So, since this might might not have to do with what I’ve been bothering you about…
I love the idea of linear roleplaying (I even was the mod of a very strict one for like 2 years), and what you’re doing here is an actually really cool idea, but I think it’s still a little rough around the edges.
Allowing only a thread at a time, for example, makes things slow down in a roleplay that people are still meeting each other, in character. So, while it makes sense for the missions, it also allows room for some people to be… “unemployed”. Be it for having no missions on their own, or for actually having to wait others to finish theirs.
While I understand the mission system and the need for a linear roleplay (and personally find it very awesome), I still think that maybe, allowing some “side”, atemporal threads might make for better mingling. Especially for, you know, the jobs that require you to know people.
Bitching aside, I voted for the best of both worlds but I will also be okay if it remains the way it is uvu <3 (Still hoping to talk to you more about the broker thing.)
Edit because I think it's worth mentioning; The liquid areas of this roleplay, if they are added, can be made more important or less important, too. It doesn't have to have boards as detailed as the linear missions, for one.
Example, if two characters are meeting in a bar for a drink, it doesn't matter much where the bar actually is.
(Have I lost you all yet?)

I don't have much to add to what's already been said before. I'm in favour of best of both worlds too. I was also a bit worried about linear rp, and the possibility of getting stuck in a thread, due to an inactive partner or a player on hiatus.
I think the possibility of liquid rping on the side would open up a lot more possibilities of making connections and foundations between characters too, where those might otherwise have to take weeks before they'd have a chance to talk. (Due to schedules of threads not matching up.)
The mission system is still a really interesting system however! And I think the liquid and linear system should be able to co-exist. <3

Since I'm fairly new to the RP-ing world, I'd rather stick to Linear because it'll be easier to keep track. But lately I realised it'll take long time before I get a chance to interact with other people since Linear is rather slow in progress. And like Ice said, there's a chance for getting stuck in a thread due to real-world business.
As for Liquid, I'm still confused on how to keep track if there are no time and boundaries of place. So I prefer the middle path: Linear-Liquid. We'll be Linear in London and Liquid in... London's Neverland, for example. All missions shall be done in Linear while Liquid can be used to deepen characters' relationships; events that wasn't really important for Linear plot but important to relationship can be done there--weeks will passed before said event finished if we do that in Linear.
Just some of my thoughts~

If I may add to the discussion (I voted for Linear-Liquid), I think it will be easy to keep track of the Liquid threads if people just reference them around missions.
For example, if somebody starts a random hangout thread, Vash can post in there to hang out. Then Vash goes on a mission called "Burger King" and breaks his wrist from shooting too many guns. The random hangout thread is "Pre-Burger King" and any threads started after completing the mission are "Post-Burger King" and would include Vash's broken wrist.
Just keeping track of when missions occur would be enough to establish a solid timeline throughout the whole board without making every thread linear. And even characters who don't have missions can still fit in chronologically if they interact with people who do, of which we have a lot.
Sorry for using Vash as an example
