So, for reasons involving the fact that I am a nocturnal person desperately trying to keep a diurnal schedule, I spent a lot of time last night contemplating how my muses would sleep and what that says about them. And I remember that people have talked about this before and it's cool, so I wanted to open up a thread for people to just post interesting headcanons they have about their muses. Little details, you know, the kinds of things that may or may not show up in bios or roleplays but that add depth to the character just by existing in your head.
I'm going to be posting sleep headcanons to start off with, and y'all are welcome to post headcanons either on that theme or of other kinds! (And I might add headcanons on any other interesting topics that come up.) So, without further ado...
Bonus headcanon which involves two characters I don't play, but which has nonetheless firmly lodged itself into my head:

{How Astrit sleeps}Out of all my characters, I think Astrit is the one whose sleeping habits I've thought about the most. I'm firmly convinced that he sleeps curled up in a little ball on his side, kind of like a cat. Usually he sleeps on his bed like regular people, but should the bed be unavailable or missing for any reason, he can catch a nap pretty much anywhere--under the bed, behind the sofa, on top of the fridge...
The interesting thing about having Astrit sleep that way is that it kind of highlights the biggest tension that's going on inside his character. I compared him to a cat, and that's no accident: he sleeps sort of like an animal, reflecting his potential to be "dangerous" or "feral." But at the same time, the reason he can sleep even in precarious places without getting hurt is because he actually has tremendous self-control. Even when he's asleep, and otherwise totally "off" and vulnerable, his sense of where the line is (the line between the top of the fridge and the open air, for example) is never off. He is constantly aware of the risks inherent in life, and constantly aware of certain boundaries that he can't cross.

{How Era sleeps}It took me a while to figure out what kind of sleeping Era does, but now I've concluded that she sleeps on her stomach, and probably wakes up almost every morning with her pillow in a protective embrace. I think she spends the whole night slowly going from "lying on the pillow" to "clinging to the pillow" to "the pillow is my baby and I will keep it safe." If she had a romantic partner she was sharing a bed with, she'd probably get all protective of said partner in her sleep, too. Basically, Era's loyal side shows up big-time when she's asleep.
{How Feliks sleeps}No question, Feliks is the type to sleep all sprawled out across the bed. Honestly, I kind of imagine that he would be able to take up the entirety of any bed, no matter how big. Yes, even one of those yaoi beds. Even though Feliks isn't an especially large person (in fact, he's kinda short as far as guys go), his personality just somehow manages to take up the whole thing. He's actually another one who exercises a ton of self-control in his awake life (despite the impression he gives off), but I think that it wears on him in a way that means he has to kind of unfold his enormous self and let it flop all over the place when he's sleeping. So whereas Astrit is restraining himself even in his sleep, Feliks is using sleep as an escape from having to tuck portions of himself away.

{A thought about nationverse!France and England}I think France and England are not just brothers, the way they refer to each other in some Hetalia comics, but identical twins. You can't tell now because they've spent their entire lives trying to differentiate themselves from each other, developing drastically different personal grooming habits in the process, but I headcanon the Hundred Years' War as including the moment of both their birth so hard. I mean, yeah, that headcanon creates problems with a bunch of things, so it doesn't bother me at all that it will probably never be anyone else's headcanon, but I love the poetry of thinking of them as identical twins who were literally born already fighting each other. They hated each other for a long time, sometimes murderously so, but deep down they always knew that they were born together, at the same place and the same time, and there's a bond between them, meaning that they have similarities that they can never excise.
