Léa Reine DuBois "Oh? So you don't consider me to be "important"? Let me tell you something, mon cher. I'll hazard I can do more damage on my laptop, sitting in my lingerie before my first cup of coffee than you can do in a year in the field. So take this piece of advice I have to offer - never mess with a Queen if you want to keep your head. Especially the Queen who supplies you with the equipment which keeps you away from death on a daily basis." |

There is a reason that Léa DuBois often refers to herself as “the Queen”. The nickname may have come from arrogance – an inflated sense of pride in herself which clouded her judgement about herself. But, putting this aside, it is an undeniable fact that Léa certainly does come across as a “regal woman”. From the way she physically presents herself to her mannerisms, Mademoiselle DuBois very well could pass as royalty. She is a woman of class; elegant and sophisticated. Every single movement she makes is graceful, each word which rolls off her tongue is smooth and sweet like honey. Léa is a refined woman in any way you can imagine. Never cursing or muttering obscenities under her breath, she is soft-spoken and often regards people with a very gentle manner of speech. If you are ever in a conversation with her, you will find that her stunning violet eyes will never once leave yours as though she is genuinely interested in what you have to say, and she gives you her full undivided attention throughout. Polite and well-mannered as well, Léa tends to keep up a graceful act when communicating with others. She shows everyone the respect she would want to be given herself, often appearing incredibly courteous, civil and gracious if anyone is ever to compliment her. Physically, Léa takes a lot of pride in herself and her appearance. Always dressed to impress no matter what the occasion, the French woman makes sure she is completely immaculate at all times. In fact, she is studious in making sure she is always in pristine condition. Léa DuBois is a naturally beautiful woman; she rarely needs make-up or jewellery to appear pretty. However, she does decorate herself with light, natural looking make-up and a few key pieces of jewels to further enhance that attractiveness. That aside, she truly is gorgeous. With her pretty, feminine figure and a serene expression kept on her flawless face. This appearance of peace acts as a mask of sorts, never causing her composure to slip. The ability to appear so refined helps adds to the overall image that Léa is of a regal class, a Queen. An air of self-confidence is what she portrays, and that confidence makes it so much easier for her to present herself to others. After all, if you are confident, it is easier to mingle with people and socialist. And that is what Léa is – a socialite. She never feels intimidated by large crowds, or uncomfortable in any situation. You will undoubtedly find her at any party or social event, especially the big events of the years. The crème de la crèmes of London society. She attends each and every one, invited or not, and becomes the centre of attention, the life and soul of the party in less to no time. People tend to have good first impressions of Mademoiselle DuBois, with her poised front and natural born grace. Quite the charmer she is as well. With just a friendly smile or a flirtatious wink, it is easy for Léa to get on people’s good sides. After all, she is incredibly amiable with her charming attitude. She want to leave a good impression on strangers and those she has just meat, thus going out of her way to do so. Léa is French, so it is not surprising that she is a romantic. She adores anything to do with love, often gushing over some of the adorable young couples she sees in the streets of London. When it comes to love, she is incredibly sharp and perceptive, and can tell when crushes and romances are blossoming around her. Infamous in the work place for setting up many people together, and attempting to get many more to fall for each other, Léa sees herself as a match-maker of sorts. She is no stranger to love, and considers herself an expert in the field. However, her romantic side is not entirely selfless. Léa is flirtatious, and finds it easy to charm her way into another lover’s bed for a passionate one night stand. Although she has had a string of various love affairs, both with men and women, she has yet to find the right person for her. The one. Léa doesn't seem to mind this, though, and is content with the fact that her soul mate will appear eventually. In the meantime, she is more than happy spending her nights enjoying herself in the company of various attractive men and women. She is an excellent lover, if she says so herself. Léa is an incredibly maternal woman who takes on the role of the “mother figure” in MI6. Her office door is always open for any of the new recruits or younger agents who need to talk to someone. She will sit and listen to their woes, and try to help them come to solutions. Kind and mature, Léa has an incredibly gentle side which she displays to her “family”, and she does care an awful lot about them. Often, she is seen scolding the agents if they misuse the gadgets she gives them, but not because of the equipment. Because she doesn't want them to injure themselves. Léa truly could be the perfect mother; patient and calm, it is virtually impossible to lose her temper and she always keeps a clear, level head. It helps when you need to quickly resolve an issue. Instead of fretting over it, Léa just sorts it out. Finally, Léa is mature and wise beyond her years, with an in-depth understanding of the world and society. It makes it so much easier to give good, reasonable advice to those who turn to her for help. And usually, her advice is the best there is, and has helped on many occasions to reach the best outcome. Unfortunately, nobody is perfect or a saint. Léa herself frequently admits that she is "no angel". Not in the slightest. First of all, it should be noted that Léa is a perfectionist. This may seem like a good trait – after all, it is good to take pride in your work and see that it is does to the best degree possible. However, with Léa this perfectionism is bordering on obsessive compulsive disorder. It can make her very hard to work with at times, and if things don’t work out or go her way, she can be difficult and unwilling to cooperate. You could say that she is not much of a team player – in all honesty there are not really that many people she fully trusts. The few she does are kept very close to her, but others may struggle to get along with Léa. Especially when things are not immaculate, or done to perfection. Although she is a bit of a tease with all her flirting, sometimes it can go way too far. Léa is a trouble maker. She enjoys deliberately winding people up, teasing and poking fun at them, mainly for her own amusement. It makes her giggle when others get flustered. Unfortunately, this does not exactly go down very well with others. Not that Léa seems to care – all the trouble was caused for her own pleasure, after all. She has been known to pull pranks (which are funny at first, yes, but Léa just doesn't know when to stop) which disgruntle quite a few of her staff in the Q department at MI6. In some ways, her humour is slightly nasty. Making fun of others and causing trouble for a few minutes of laughs. But that’s just how Léa is. Léa is an arrogant young lady. It is not surprisingly, really. She calls herself “the Queen” after all. But, even so, she does have an incredibly egotistical streak to her. A vain, self-centred woman is what she is. Her judgement of herself is clouded, and though Léa will admit to having flaws (who doesn’t), they are shoved aside and swept under a rug. What she does focus on are her strengths. She’s smart, beautiful, well liked, and oh doesn’t she know it! In fact, she tends to rub it in people’s faces. Not obviously, of course. Everything is very subtle with Léa. She acts slightly smug, haughty. Like she knows she’s the best. And of course, Léa thinks that Léa is the best. She is self-centred, and everything she does is for her own benefit most of the time. The Frenchwoman, despite her strong maternal side, does put herself before others. This is where some of her truly unattractive traits come in. Even with all her good sides, Léa is manipulative. Cunning, a liar, a back-stabber, she knows how to use people to get exactly what she wants, or at least get the best she can to save herself in any given situation. There are very few people she is truly loyal to, and those who she isn't are at a very high risk of getting used, and eventually tossed aside. Do not ever cross a woman like Léa DuBois – she will work to see that thing do not end up well or in your favour at all. If you can’t help her or get her what she wants, then there is no use for you. Deal with it, darlings~ ♥ As a refined woman, she does not have a short temper, nor can you call her particularly fiery. But, if angered, Léa can be incredibly icy and cold with whoever has “wronged her”. With a venomous, snide and critical tongue, she is known to be snarky and make horribly sarcastic comments when not in a good mood. Léa truly is the sort of woman that will give you a glare which means a hundred words, and say something cutting which will stab at your heart and leave it broken into a million little pieces. Try to mend it and get her back on your side, otherwise she will remain frosty with you for a very long time. In fact, the Ice Queen may never thaw if you personally do not work to fix whatever mess she believes you made. With all of these complex sides to her personality, it really is no wonder that Léa Reine DuBois is called "the Queen". She sure as hell acts like one. |

✓ Fashion | Léa is the embodiment of the idea of "Parisian chic". Her entire wardrobe is a homage to designer fashion - from Chanel to Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent to Givenchy, she has it all. Any French designer labels in particular. Léa is always dressed her absolute best, in the finest couture you can imagine. ✓ Cosmetics | She collects make-up and perfumes. It's a little hobby, but an expensive one due to her high tastes. When it comes to perfume, her signature scent is Chanel N°5, and it is by far her favourite perfume which she wares most often. ✓ Films | Léa is a bit of a film buff, and owns an extensive DVD and Blu-Ray collection at home. Older movies are her favourites, and romances her favourite genre. ✓ Macaroons | The most delicious things in the world, and are by far Léa's favourite things to eat. She always has a box of the finest macaroons sitting on her desk, which she snacks on throughout the day. ✓ Wine | The other most delicious thing in the world, and by far the best beverage. Léa is a bit of a wine fanatic, and owns a collection of fine and rare wines at home which would most certainly cost a fortune. She always makes sure to have three bottles of wine in her office at MI6 as well - one rosé and one white in the mini fridge, and a red stored in a cupboard, away from the boss' eyes. ✓ Shopping | What girl doesn't like shopping? Léa certainly enjoys going out of a weekend and splashing the cash in a fancy mall or boutique. Shopping is her therapy away from her stressful job! Well, that's her excuse anyway. It's a miracle her card doesn't constantly expire the way she carries on. ✓ Art | Another one of her weekend hobbies is to visit any of the art galleries in London and just spend the day their, admiring all the work she can. Whenever she visits Paris, she always takes her mother out to the Louvre as well. Though she herself has never tried to paint, there is nothing stopping Léa from admiring art. ✓ Fencing | Such an elegant sport; one of true nobles. Léa was given fencing lessons as a child, and is still a very talented swordswoman. She could easily beat anyone in a sword fight. She even has a beautiful rapier on her office wall, which more than once she has taken down and challenged some of the younger interns to a duel with. Their faces were so adorable when they saw that blade~! ♥ ✓ Chess | Léa is an intellect, and she finds chess to be the game which stimulates her mind most of all. It truly is a game of strategy and wits, one which Léa enjoys learning from and improving herself with. ✓ Purple | Léa's favourite colour by far. It is such a regal yet feminine colour, it is no wonder she loves it so much. She always has something purple - even her lab coat is in fact a very soft shade of lilac, practically white, but the tone is still noticeable enough to detect the difference. ✓ Lilies | And here we have Léa's favourite flower. They are incredibly dainty and elegant - a lot like Léa in many ways - and she truly finds them beautiful. There is always a bouquet of lilies on her desk in her office. ✓ Philosophy | Don't be surprised if Léa ever calls you into her office one day to discuss the meaning of life or the theories behind our existence. She loves conversation and debates, particularly those linked to philosophy or "deeper subjects". It helps to get the cogs in her brain to start turning on a Monday morning. ✓ Smoking | Although not a particularly heavy or frequent smoker, she is known to light up a cigarette when things start to get hectic or stressful. The nicotine helps calm her down. ✓ Opera | Most Friday nights are spent (if not with another lover) attending the opera. For it is a fantastic display of art and culture. Léa is enthralled by it all. The music, the costumes, the stories, everything. It is such a shame most people seem to find it a bore. They clearly have no class whatsoever. ✓ Small Dogs | She owns two miniature poodles named Coco and Yves. They are the most adorable things in the world, in Léa's eyes. | ✗ Prudes | Ah, Léa simply has no time for them. People who are all uppity and can't take a light bit of flirting or teasing are bores. Yes, Léa is a well-classed woman, but she is no prude herself. So, she expects everyone to be accepting and have a balance of sophistication and rather risqué humour. ✗ Shouting | It hurts her delicate little ears so very much when people raise their voices. Really, shouting and screaming like a child is unnecessary, and will get you no further in life than if you just hold your tongue and put up with whatever the problem is. Léa rarely raises her voice - if she does it means something terrible must be happening. ✗ Heavy Spirits | Unable to hold her alcohol that well, there is a reason why Léa prefers lighter drinks like wines. She sees no point in getting drunk for the sake of getting drunk, and in her mind, heavy spirits were only invented for that reason. She refuses to touch them with a meter long pole, let alone drink them. ✗ Laziness | Always being a hard worker means she cannot stand it when people won't just pull their own weight around and actually get things done. She is known to scold quite a few of the rookies (and more experienced) scientists when she catches them slacking on the job. That simply will not do! ✗ Dull Colours | Life is full of so many vivid, bright, and beautiful colours! The dull ones just make things rather depressing. Léa has decorated her dull, drab white office with many bright and cheery cushions, ornaments, artwork, and other pieces of furniture in order to make the place feel much less like a padded cell and more like a home. ✗ Modern Communication Methods | Although, yes, Léa does utilise emails and texting, she much prefers writing traditional letters. They are so much more personal, and it actually looks like you care if you take the time to sit down and write out a proper letter, rather than type a few insignificant words down on a computer. ✗ Disrespect | She constantly commands a high level of respect from her employees and subordinates, and anyone who does not show that respect is shown none back. Léa believes in treating everyone how you yourself would want to be treated, so she is always incredibly nice with people. If they want to turn around and not reciprocate, she won't hesitate to revoke her attitude towards them. ✗ Eavesdroppers | Nosey people simply are the worst. Secrets are meant to be kept secret, and people trying to listen in to confidential information is incredibly rude. This is why she tends to talk so quietly, especially during personal conversations in public places. She does not want anyone eavesdropping. ✗ Pests | Such as bugs and rats. Disgusting, dirty little creatures. The moment she spies anything of the sort in her home or office, pest control is called in without a moments hesitation. Well, after she has managed to get her screaming over and done with that is. ✗ Counterfeit Goods | ...Don't you dare ever try to rip off darling Coco Chanel or Louis Vuitton with your cheap, tacky, copy-cat goods. That is a crime against fashion! No. A crime against humanity!! ✗ English Cuisine | There's a reason it would be hell if the English were the cooks. The Frenchwoman truly finds their food disgusting, and simply cannot stomach it. French cooking is far superior to their pathetic fish and chips, obviously. ✗ Imperfections | She will not stand to anything being any less than perfect. If it is not at a standard which she declares right, then everything must be started from scratch and re-done. Though it may seem incredibly fussy, it does mean that the gadgets her team churns out are at a very high quality, and have a very good track record as well. So all you agents had better appreciate that! ✗ Losing | A competitive French woman she is, and Léa simply cannot stand loosing. She must always be the best - that is just the way her mind works. If anything or anyone is to beat her, she simply cannot stand it. ✗ Stress | Léa cannot deal with it, pure and simple. Though she maintains a very composed exterior, it does get to her, and the first thing she always does after a stressful day of work is have a nice long soak in a hot bubble bath. Or get a manicure. Preferably French. ✗ Physical Labour | She is not the strongest of women physically, and would rather not embarrass herself by highlighting and showing to the entire Q division what she is unable to lift and carry. This is why she just gets the interns and lackeys to the heavy work for her! |

★ Settle Down | What she wants most in the world is to find the perfect partner, maybe start a family, and eventually retire in comfort. Maybe even moving back to Paris will be on the cards. ★ See Her Mother Happy | Although she was always apparently happy, Léa could tell that her mother was heartbroken over how things ended with her father. She wants to see her lovely mother, the woman who she looks up to entirely, find her own special someone to make her smile naturally again. ★ Make Her Own Fashion Line | Maybe that engineering degree could one day be put to designing? She tends to day-dream about making her own couture line of clothing, which of course would always be the must haves in all the fashion magazines. Ah, a girl can dream, right? ★ French Kiss Under the Eiffel Tower at Night as Fireworks are Set Off | Because isn't that just the most romantic image or scene ever~? | ✖ The Past Catching Up with Her | Léa has worked hard all her life, and has finally settled down and has made herself quite comfortable where she is. What she dreads is some of the enemies she made to come back and muck up everything for her. ✖ Disease | Being a neat-freak, she absolutely detests germs. What would be even worse is getting infected by some foul, disgusting illness with no cure! Can you imagine how disastrous that would be?! Thus, everything must remain clean and spotless. ✖ Rape | Léa is fond of the act of love-making yes. But this...? It hardly needs an explanation. As a woman who physically, is not particularly strong, it does worry her on occasion when she is strolling the dark streets of London alone at night how vulnerable she actually is. And well... she'd rather not think of any outcomes if someone was to jump on her. ✖ Living a Loveless Life | She is a romantic, plain and simple, and it probably would break her heart if she ended up alone for the rest of her life. Léa wants to find the right person. ✖ Being Disliked | Léa is the sort of person who thrives off popularity. Strip that away from her, and you'll knock her confidence a fair bit. She honestly, really does try to get along with everyone. All she can do is hope her efforts are rewarded. |
Background |
Léa Reine DuBois was a mistake which was never meant to happen - so her father says. He had blamed Léa's mother, Éloise DuBois, of seducing. In his own words, she was no more than a "manipulative snake". And because of that awful temptress, an unwanted child had been born. Why was Léa unwanted by her father? He was a family man already. Quite a famous one in France, as a matter of fact. The CEO of a rich and powerful company, he was known to have the perfect life with his beautiful wife and two, darling children. If the public ever was to find out that he had an affair with a young waitress and had fathered another child, his career would have been ruined. So, the mother was paid off to keep quiet. The scandal was swept under the rug by shipping Éloise and her new daughter off to live in a fabulous mansion on the outskirts of Paris, with enough financial support from the father for them to live a very nice life without Mademoiselle having to return to her old job, on one condition. That Éloise was never to say anything or let anyone know that he was the father. Despite all this, Léa grew up in a happy environment. She loved her mother with all her heart, and that affection was returned. Léa was a spoilt little girl, treated like a princess all her life, but raised immaculately. Even with Éloise's far from perfect past, she acted like a true member of the upper classes, and Léa was brought up as though she herself had pure blue blood. But despite how fortunate and happy the two of them were, Léa's mother would constantly tell her the same thing. "Don't make the same mistakes I did. Work hard, look after yourself, and never throw your life away. Be your own woman." Léa always took this advice to heart, and she promised her mother she would be a strong woman when she was older. Léa was a bright little girl in school. She studied hard, her work always done to perfection. From an early age, she had a goal set to attend a top university and study to become a doctor. It was her dream, and my did she work for it! She made her mother proud, that was for sure. Especially when she was offered a place at Cambridge university during her adolescence. Thus Léa left France and ventured off to England, beaming with pride all the way. Her course ended up not being Medicine however; her focus was on Chemical Engineering, a mix of both Chemistry and Engineering. It was a fascinating course, and Léa found she loved inventing her own gadgets and gizmos in her own time. When she did graduate from Cambridge university with such a fine degree under her belt, Léa had expected the job offers to come rolling in, and that she would be snapped up for employment by some huge multinational company which needed a bright, fresh mind to act as their researcher. But, how wrong she was. Soon, the young Frenchwoman was struggling to find work. For most recent graduates, this was not such an issue. They were able to survive for a while before a job offer came along. Unfortunately for Léa, she had become used to a very particular lifestyle of designer fashion and gourmet cuisine. This was something she was unable to sustain at that moment and, rather than loose face and give up on her preferred standards, she decided to opt for the first job which became available. Of course, it would never have been Léa's first choice to work in the underworld, but at the time she had no other option. Goodness knows how they had ever found Miss DuBois - one night she had suddenly been stolen away from her apartment, only to be sitting across from a Mafia boss no less, who offered her a very good deal for her services. Not wanting to give up on her lifestyle or end up with a bullet in her brain, Léa accepted, and soon found herself making bombs, weapons and gadgets for the underground world. It was during this time she met a woman by the name of Nicoleta Daciana, with whom she ended up forming a rather odd but incredibly close bond with. The two have remained friends to this days, despite the very different paths they ended up taking. The path which Léa ended up following arose when one day, again - goodness knows how, MI6 tracked her down and arrested her for her work in the underworld. Suddenly, Léa DuBois was in quite a pinch. Luckily for her and her ability to keep a very level head, she was able to work her way out of the issue easily. She made MI6 a deal - the names of some of the most wanted or influential lawless she had ever made contact with, in exchange for a clean record, MI6 protection from any lawless who may have sort her out, and a job which utilised her skills. Léa was a lucky woman; her crimes had been insignificant in comparison to those committed by the people she gave up to the law. And so, Léa soon found herself working in MI6's Q division. Léa was a hard worker, and she certainly did work her way up to the top. Now she is the resident Q - Queen of MI6 and the Q department, and the mother hen to all the agents she works along side. She is also currently living in a posh penthouse apartment with her best friend, Carmen Fernandez-Carriedo. It is a nice life for her now once again. She just hopes her past doesn't catch up with her... |

Léa DuBois sat with a serene expression residing on her face as she stared intently at the agent sitting across from her. The Frenchwoman could sense the other’s slight discomfort, and it caused a tiny smile to pull at the corners of her lips. She found the spies at MI6… adorable. Yes, that was the word. Despite being fully grown adults (even if some did not always act like it), they were all simply adorable. Especially when it came down to matters like this. And it was for this very reason that Léa, most commonly known as Q, would always keep her door open to those that needed her advice and guidance. “Alors, ma chérie,” the brunette woman began softly, her voice kind and sympathetic. A delicate hand gestured towards the open box of macaroons resting upon her desk in a graceful manner, offering them to her guest who, in turn, politely declined with a shake of her head. Léa’s smile did not once falter, and she instead placed her elbows on the work surface beneath her, before gently resting her chin on her hands. “What was it you wanted to ask me about, hm? Love?” The Queen could see by the other woman’s vivid blush at that point that she had hit the nail right on the head there. With a soft, charming giggle, Léa tilted her head to one side and said in a reassuring tone, “Don’t worry, it was not obvious. I just have a very good talent at spotting the signs.” After that statement, she released the tiniest of sighs before bluntly stating, “You still love him, non?” This time, she leaned back in her chair with a hum of thought in her throat. Hm, how could this situation be fixed. It was certainly a difficult one. The agent hadn’t exactly made things easy for Léa with how she had decided to end it. But oh well, no matter. Léa DuBois always did love a challenge. “My suggestion for now is to just be patient,” she finally offered her little piece of advice with a firm nod of her head. “Things will work out for you, chérie. Do not worry about that. It might just take some time. But!” Her final word was emphasised as she raised her left index finger, as though this was the most important thing she had to say. “Do not just wait around for too long either. It might actually help just to be honest with him and tell him that you still have feelings for him.” An awkward silence followed suit; most likely the agent trying to process what Léa had just told her. The French woman was patient, though, and she gave her the time she needed to gather her thoughts. When the agent eventually did get up to leave with a small thank you, Léa simply nodded and gave the other lady a wink, her smile still fixed in place. “Good luck, mon mignon~ ♥” |
