456 words @vi | F or the first time in two months, Nesia felt really relaxed. There were people gathering in many groups in the park. She was in one of the large groups, the one that was consisted of women; mothers of all ages. Her ears were listening to a mother of four explaining her first pregnancy, but her eyes were wandering around the group. She examined those faces, women young and old, some with children who were barely able to sit still for a minute. They keep running around while their parents were talking, forcing the adults to keep their eyes on them. Everyone seemed innocent. She blended in nicely among them, especially since most of them were pregnant and expecting their first child. Just like her. Being surrounded by them made her feel normal and not alone. It's unlikely that one of these adults was a spy. There were too many witness, and Nesia doubted the mafia would recognize her in her disguise. She wore a short, dark auburn wig that covered her long black hair that had been shed lately. Her matte lipstick was also in the same shade. A square-framed glasses she used made her seemed to be several years older. Her gray long dress showed a hint of her changing body. Her disguise would be more plausible if she wasn't alone, but she couldn't bring a civilian with her. Her real business was a matter of secrets and security. Laughter spread in the group, so Nesia imitated it as well, even though she had no idea why. She glanced at her phone, realizing that it's time for her to leave. So she carefully stood up and bid the group goodbye. Scotland Yard was within walking distance from the park, and Nesia was really grateful about it. Too much walking would make her feet swollen. After going through inspection at the entrance, an officer took Nesia to an empty room, instructing her to wait. She seated herself on one of two chairs available inside. Apparently her arrival was already expected by the police. Could it be that Ms. Nguyen already arrived first? She was only... sixteen minutes late, after all. The summon was completely unexpected. Nesia thought her job was done (momentarily, at least) once she gave the list of names to her MI6 superiors. But someone wanted to check it first before they took further action. It was understandable. Some people whose name she wrote were not expected to be involved in the mafia business after all. Nesia took off her shoes and let her feet dangle above the floor. She took out a wooden fan from her bag to cool herself down. Soon she saw the door opened and someone stepped in. "Good afternoon." |
