it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you tonight now i invite you to relax.. have a seat, and be my guest..
FRIENDS Leyla doesn’t mind friends, in fact, Leyla loves to make friends and spend time with all sorts of people. People from all sorts of countries and cultures sit well with Leyla. If you just want to chat, and have a cup of coffee, you are very welcome. Leyla treats her friends differently, to Leyla it is like everyone fits into a different degree of friendship. People out on the street can one day become her guests at her Inn, and of course if you have no place to stay you are invited. Then there are the friends who do her big favors, these people take the place of her family, and have earned Leyla’s loyalty. To sum it up it really depends how close you want to get to Leyla’s heart, how close you will get. Sense Leyla will reciprocate whatever you do. She loves variety, so the more the merrier.
ENEMIES Yeah Leyla has enemies, she does not talk about them but she has them. Thieves that wanted to tag along that she never agreed with, to people who were in prison who had no reason to hate Leyla, but hated her anyway. Then there is a few strangers who she stole from who might still have grudges against her. In the middle of all this there are the people that actually are very angry with her for things like arguments, and her recklessness, but these aren't enemies, they are just people who annoy her. Perverts are people that Leyla does tend to dislike and very often will be very happy to shove her high heel into thier faces. In part she feels she has paid the price for many of her crimes, but her enemies do make her wary, inside herself she sometimes wonders and believes that maybe they have all the right to hate her.
LOVES Leyla has never had a lover. Her ‘loves’ are just temporary crushes on foreign guys, and sometimes guests who stay at her Inn. If Leyla has ever experienced love, it is only in her imagination. Despite Leyla being reckless, Leyla isn’t careless enough to say she loves someone. Most of the time Leyla will treat a person she loves, the way she will treat her guests, she might give them a gentle kiss on the forehead, or if not a hug, it mostly depends on how she feels, of course if you are very keen, you will be able to tell she is more affectionate than usual, if you are keen, if not you will dismiss this; sense Leyla is intimate with most people. If her crush happens to be a guest in her home, she will take advantage of the situation, to talk to him. Leyla of course loves to exaggerate, and if you ask her about this topic, she might lie to you and tell you she has a secret admirer, or will be blunt and tell you she has none, and then giggle madly, like a sixteen year old. yeah.. I did. I thought maybe Leyla and Mihai could have a friend/enemy relationship, what if Mihai knew about Leyla when she used to be a thief? Or what if he was the guy that caught Leyla red handed? What if Leyla was caught trying to steal something from Mihai but then sense Mihai is not an ordinary citizen, he outsmarted her? Leyla in part will hate Mihai, and in part will be thankful that she was caught... sense she no longer wants to be a thief.. Of course if you want, Leyla to be on more friendly terms with Mihai, I could come up with another idea..

hmm all right, let's see. This could actually be a fairly interesting relationship, as Mihai would probably feel some degree of sympathy for her since they have quite a similar past. Well, first for your ideas. To put it simply, if Mihai saw a use for her and wanted to keep in contact, he wouldn't have turned her in; if he didn't see a use for her, he would arrest her and definitely wouldn't be expecting to see her after that. But as I said, he would probably feel sympathetic—he's been in a similar situation before. The only thing he'd be touchy enough about to arrest her for would be if she'd broken into his house, since he definitely doesn't want anyone in there who could snoop around and uncover his ties with the terrorist group. Would she reinitiate relations with someone who turned her in? Mihai is influential; there could definitely be benefits to it.

Yeah they do have a similar past. And yeah she would reinitiate relations with Mihai.. Yeah what if she got caught breaking into his house? She didn't find out he was involved in a terrorist group, but Mihai doesn't know that.. She would reinitiate relations, but probably just to thank, him for turning her in. I am actually writing a thread where she returns to Katyusha just to thank her, because Katyusha tried to make her quit being a thief. .

Oh what if Mihai finds out that Leyla is out of jail, and Mihai just wants to make sure that she does not know that he is involved in a terrorist group?

He'd definitely make sure that she didn't know before turning her in. |D He wouldn't want her to use that piece of info for a bargaining chip with the police~ I can see him being a little bit weirded out with her if she came back to thank him though. But he might feel a little inclined to help her if she talks about her past.

|D. This smiley is so much better than the other one.
haha!! Yeah he would be. She would still try to thank him though, she isn't going to tell him openly: I am the thief that broke into your house, thank you for turning me in.
Or she will be subtle and she will try and send him a small vague thank you note and maybe a gift. The thing with Leyla is she changed her name to hide the fact that she was a thief, so for now she doesn't want no one to know that, she is just sending people gifts, so she will shower Mihai with notes and gifts!
Or she could be blunt and tell him openly. After all she is reckless sometimes.. xD! And sense he did turn her in, she might openly tell him about her past considering, he's from the government and if she lied to him, he has access to all kind of information so he would figure out she lied to him sooner or later. Yeah I think Leyla having a more blunt approach will be better. Then yeah they could become sort of like friends.

Yup--I use it because it avoids being converted to the proboards smiley. |D
Either way, he will probably be quite puzzled, especially if she's sending people gifts pfft. He wouldn't reject seeing her though—so perhaps whatever she sees fit pfft. Do you have any ideas how you want their relationship to be/to work in the present?

So I really wanna plot Leyla and Astrit. Partly this is because their nations have a history, and partly because their histories look to be sort of similar in some ways and I haven't really gotten many opportunities to plot Astrit with other ex-criminals.
So, plots. I feel like these two ought to at least have met at some point.

Yeah they ought to have met. But considering Astrits age it would be difficult for them to have met. Because Leyla was practically being taken to jail, when Astrit was still growing. But they could become friends considering thier similar pasts.. if you have any other ideas feel free to dish them out. |D.

With respect to the age thing: I think I worked out the relative ages okay, and you're just underestimating exactly how young of a criminal Astrit was. We're talking about a kid who goes to primary school by day, and then comes home to commit petty larceny at night. He was an orphan before he was seven. Astrit was risking jail (had anyone noticed him) when Astrit was still growing--and he had a big sister (about six years older than himself) who did riskier things while trying to protect her brother, and later died when her luck ran out in the doing. So a few possibilities arise, not necessarily being mutually exclusive... - Leyla met Astrit and/or his sister when they were all involved in matters not necessarily on the right side of the law, and they remained aware of each other's existence.
- After getting back to living reasonably law-abiding lives, they ran into each other in the streets or somesuch and somehow managed to figure out that they had such similar stories--one possibility: Astrit could have made the local news when his existence was discovered in a shocking manner. Or combine this with the previous. Either way, they strike some kind of rapport because of their similarly dark pasts and similar experiences of trying to win their way back to normalcy?

Hmm, alright. Well, Mihai's job may involve some pretty crazy hours, especially if they're in the middle of a case, so he might find Leyla's inn a convenient place to crash for a few hours? |D Especially if it's close to his workplace, he'll find it more convenient than driving all the way home. I dunno—that's what I have for ideas though. In any case, it might be fun to build Leyla's trust in him as someone who represents the law, because we know all of that will eventually come crashing down.

Kos: Yeah your right.. They actually could've met now that I think about it. When Leyla was 17 was when she was stealing things, Astrit was probably seven by then. So yeah your right... they could've met, and she could've also met his sister. |D. If you want they can have a pre-established relationship. Or yeah they could've met and been aware of each other but didn't sell each other out due to similar reasons, and after Astrit was discovered, Leyla goes out of her way looking for him?
If you want we can make a thread about Leylas past a little.. or we can make a thread in the present, where Leyla is looking for Astrit sense she met him long ago, and Astrit managed to make headlines recently? |D.
Worldie: Sounds like a good idea! Mihai could decide to stay at Leyla's Inn, sense it is closer. It would be pretty funny, if Mihai would knock the door at odd hours of the night and wake up Leyla. haha! It sounds like a good idea..
