Li Yun Long Deadpan as usual, Leon continued. ”Your friend’s big story isn’t about mobsters’ dating, it’s about two kids being brutally murdered for being too nosy. She’s setting up a distraction now so she’ll seem innocent but you’ll see, she’ll kill us herself by choking. Then, BAM! Multiple pen stab wounds. On the knees.” Then he whispered, as if things could be made even more dramatic. “With our own pens, Luci.” |

Strength; After he came to London, Leon spent his early teenage years on the streets, hanging out with all kinds of thugs and lowlifes. That’s where he learnt how to fight. The boy is quick both to hit and to run alike, as more than once he had to run from the police. Along with his lighter, Leon always brings a pocket knife with him. Smarts; Muscles alone don’t bring you too far in life, and soon Leon noticed that having the most impressive physique wouldn’t always work for him. He’s might not have a lot of book knowledge, he is very good on handling people. It also makes him a very good gambler. Fun; To go with his brain, Leon soon developed quite the sense of humor. He’s outgoing, and doesn’t mind crowds, even if he’ll never be the center of attention. He’s playful as he is sarcastic; most people would simply call him snarky. He enjoys music, parties, dancing, and going out in general. Easygoing; It’s very rare to see Leon complain about things (unless you're Yao). Even if he dislikes something, he’ll keep it to himself rather than spoiling the moods of his current companion. His tastes are also very easy to please; any food is good, any music is fine, any place is great. And he usually means it, as well. Politeness; As customary in the east, and as demanded by his mother’s owner, Leon is extremely well-mannered in public. He keeps his voice down, and column straight. It doesn’t stop him from joking around and even teasing his closer friends though. Hidden skills; Inspired by a childhood idol, Leon has some Kung Fu training. Hardly a pro, he's can still throw a nasty kick if you're not careful. Leon tries his best to keep in shape, He’s an average cook, and tries to cook for himself as often as he can. He loves fighting games from old arcades, and he’s very good at them. Can hotwire a car in no time. Deadpan; It’s very hard to discover what’s going on in Leon’s mind. His expression hardly changes, and his posture is also kept default. It’s a very useful skill for a life so close to a mob boss, but it might be a little tasking on his loved ones. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel emotions though. Distant; Leon is a normal boy that happened to grow up in unfortunate conditions, and that made him a little jaded towards the world’s problems. He may help an old lady cross the street, but Leon isn’t a dreamer and he knows better than most that the world isn’t pink. He’s no one’s hero, but instead he’ll make do and try to live the best he can. Insolent; Being intelligent and outspoken isn’t always a good thing. More than once Leon gotten himself beaten for talking back with his superiors, whether in the streets, or with Yao. He’ll watch his tongue better if he really wants to win the game, though. Reserved; Friendliness and outgoing doesn’t always imply someone is dying to tell their life story. Leon isn’t resentful about his life, but he’ll avoid the subject if it ever comes up, even if merely to spare himself from judgment and awkward questions. . |
Likes | Dislikes |
Living; Leon enjoys good company, parties, a fist fight or another, long walks in the beach and having a good time. He tries his best to be optimistic, at all times. Fireworks, explosions and etcetera; With a slight tendency towards pyromania, he’s more likely to have a lighter on him than his own wallet. He’s often seen playing with it. B-rated movies; Nothing’s better than a good old kung fu flick. Leon particularly appreciates Jackie Chan Pandas; Everyone needs a soft side. Harassing Yao; Best. Pasttime. Ever. (But Leon's always making sure he doesn't cross any unspoken lines; he likes his head still attached to his neck, thank you.) | Nagging; While not the employee of the month, Leon is hardly lazy. He has his own pace, and he will get the work done, thank you very much. Cruelty; Beating a man for his debts is one thing. Hurting his wife and kids, uncalled for. Boredom; He’ll always be looking for someone to talk to, or something to do. Risk; Lucky thing Leon is a smart boy, he does try to stay away from bigger trouble. It doesn’t mean he can’t fend for himself, though. |
Dreams | Fears |
Freedom; Not that Leon is being held to Yao against his will, he's found himself in a comfortable position, money and otherwise, so he'll endure the mob life until he can stand on his own two feet. Stability; While Yao has money to spare, they are never quite safe from attacks from rival gangs or police raids. Leon would like to disappear from this world, one day. Company; Leon is hardly a hopeless romantic, but he would like to settle down with someone nice at some point. | Deceit; From his mother’s history, Leon is quite wary of too kind people. If something is too sweet to be true, it probably isn’t. The Mob; Being close to an important gangster may keep Leon relatively safe from the usual thug, but he's constantly wondering when the rival clans could strike Yao where it hurts; his make-do familyf. Yao; More than the mob itself, Leon is constantly aware of Yao's reach. Should they have a fall out, Leon thinks it'd be hard to hide. |

Li Niu was a good woman. She took tender care of her son and did the best she could, managing their small apartment in Hong Kong just fine with her husband's income. The man’s drinking and gambling habits, however, were not compatible with said income, which soon resulted in the Triad trying to collect his debts. Niu was quickly sold and shipped out to London, to serve in a very expensive, very illegal massage house to pay for her husband’s debts, and Leon, only nine at the time, was taken along. She held on for her son, and it took four long years till she passed. While off shift, Leon spent most of his time in the streets, where he learnt how to fight and stay sharp. After his mother died, Leon kept on working for the massage house as a waiter, for at least another year, until the one responsible for the house was brought down in a confrontation with Wang Yao's men. Fourteen then, Leon was brought into Yao's household to be raised as the man's own son. The man arranged him papers. Now Leon was a truly Englishmen. Fairly charismatic, Leon got to know quite a bunch of Yao's business contacts; most of which he still keeps track, in case he could earn a little extra information on the side. Leon is now attending university, taking a few random courses until he can settle on a career. Meanwhile, he enjoys a comfortable life under Yao's protection, even if it's not the easiest sometimes. He keeps an ear out for all kinds of gossip and underground news, just in case he ever needs to fend for himself. He earned the pet name Leon in the massage house, and he’s better known as such. |

Jia sighed for what seemed to be the hundredth time since they had sat down. He kept on playing with the lighter too, waiting for Lucille to decide how to organize their schedule. ”So we can’t run into her. But if she’s as bad as you keep saying, I don’t want to officially meet her, either.” The woman was famous enough in underground London, and all kinds of news reached the boy’s ears regardless of Lucille’s involvement with Estelle. And even if the mafia boss were on good terms with his friend, he knew one thing. ”Even if Estelle knows Daciana, I don’t think she’d just hand over her phone number, you know. These things come for a price, so we might as well come up with a different approach right now.” He thought for a second, wondering if any of his contacts would know of Daciana’s whereabouts. Regardless of whether the person was Lucille’s friend or not, he really wondered if they even knew what they were getting into. ”Picking random names from a list is a little sketchy, isn’t it? Unless the list was, like, ‘people you definitely shouldn’t to stalk’.” He had been a little intense with his friend though, not that any regret would show in his face or his tone. ”We’ll just have to be extra careful, alright? Starting with the easy ones sounds like a good idea. The worse thing that can happen is that we get kicked out of some fancy restaurant. Then he smirked a little, when a few hazy memories came back to him. ”Nothing we didn’t handle before.” They should have some sort of line though, knowing when to back off if things did actually get too dangerous. Jia was fairly sure Lucille could run even faster than him, so that was at least one thing less to worry about, just in case. ”Abort and dismiss as soon as we’re detected, deal? That means run as fast as you can and hide somewhere and call when you’re clear, by the way.” His phone buzzed again, announcing Sindri’s reply. Jia quickly texted a thank you note and offered the girl the phone with the taller Bondevik’s whereabouts. He didn’t even notice he was smiling till he noticed his reflection on the screen. Had she been staring? ”Also, he’s not my brother-in-law.” |
