Alina Iakovna Milakovna A pretty-in-pink woman whose exterior doesn't quite match up to par with what lies underneath. Her strength is stronger than one would think and she isn't keen on being judged upon first impression, though more than likely you will be the one under her analyzing. She's friendly and open at most times, awkward on the topic of romance and always interested in gaining knowledge. |

It’s easy to tell with one glimpse of Alina that she’s a feminine person. Her appearance might be a strong depiction of that, though her inner personality provides something much more concrete. Affiliated with the common traits of a woman as she might be, she doesn’t ever expect someone to treat her as such – chivalry and sincere flattery come as a surprise to her, and underneath that flowery appearance is a sense of pride and hint of strength that can sometimes fail her. She doesn’t want to come off as weak or a pushover to anyone, though sometimes she’ll be at a loss of how to really overcome that. After all, her strength is saved only for times where it’s necessary to use, though usually she’s just a victim to faulty emotions and sensitivity. Her features are always soft and smiling, echoing the gentle air which she carries. While she doesn’t always wish to lie about her true emotions – that happiness in her expression is, for the most part, genuine – she can’t always find herself able to control them. She’s described as emotionally unstable, for she isn’t always able to get a grasp on what she’s feeling. She’s sensitive and therefore subject to easily becoming upset, at which point she’ll struggle to get a hold of herself again. She understands that someone might not mean to make her upset, though she can’t help her getting anxious and distressed over the smallest, most insignificant of things. These swings of emotion aren’t anything she chooses to undergo, and often after these occasions she will look weary to anyone who notices. However she tries her best not to let these get to her, wanting to come off as the more serene, content person she is. When things really do get out of hand, she’ll look to alcohol as relief; not to mention that she’s even more of an emotional wreck when completely intoxicated. Although Alina isn’t an open person in entirety, she isn’t known to reject the offer of company or purposely isolate herself from socializing. She does like to make friends, tending to overlook the fact that she’s grown up in more lonesome circumstances. She’s friendly, and although it might take her time to begin trusting someone else, she can become a very talkative bug once she’s begun to warm up to someone. A natural curiosity toward others leads her to inquire often about the lives of other people, questioning them when she isn’t too busy rambling about anything else. Rambles aren’t always under her conscious control, either. Sometimes she’ll end up saying something blunt that she doesn’t entirely mean to. She can be blunt on her own as well, though if she happens to embarrass or take someone by surprise with her speech, the only thing that will follow is excessive apologizing. Alina has a motherly complex that leads her to feel needless care toward those she grows attached to. She’s a very sympathetic person, unable to help her prying when she feels there’s something off about someone else. She’ll prefer to help someone out when they’re in need, rather than letting them keep their feelings bottled up inside, intrusive about personal lives even when she might not mean to be. On the other hand, she isn’t as open when it comes to discussing her own personal life. She has difficulty in general when it comes to talking about herself, merely under the fact that she can be reserved and a bit self-conscious when certain things regarding her and any of her qualities or antics are brought underneath the spotlight. When it comes to family and friends, this sense of motherly (or sisterly) endearment can expand to protectiveness. She’s especially protective of family members, mostly out of irrational fear and anxiety toward possibly losing them, always wanting to be the most successful guardian to them even if she might not be the most capable. As for romantic partners, she’s more conscious of her actions and knows not to make a companion uncomfortable... though she also has a habit of invading the personal space of others, unaware until someone actually tells her she’s too close. She isn’t always the most affectionate or touchy person, since these manners are reserved solely to someone she’s in a more intimate relationship with and also the fact she doesn’t want to force herself upon others. She will be loyal to any significant other, as well as to good friends, though sometimes she’ll find herself unsure how, exactly, she can be romantic. She’s a bit awkward and bashful on dates, since romantic settings aren’t something she’s used to. Inexperienced in the entire aspect, this also goes for a lack of pure intimate experience as well. Alina isn’t very strongly self-conscious about herself, but there are times where that weakness can arise. She enjoys experimenting with various sorts of outfits – sometimes she’ll dress in warm layers that don’t show much skin, or sometimes she’ll thoughtlessly try on more revealing clothing. Regarding the latter, if someone were to make a negative comment toward her attire, rather than retorting with a verbal response she’ll simply become embarrassed about her figure and seek to change into something else. Her body isn’t exactly in the fittest of shapes, which is a factor she often forgets about herself; so it’s only if someone else jeers or points something out that she’ll begin to second guess herself. This is of course something that can trigger her more sensitive reactions, though she’d rather not be caught crying. Even in the case of having fingers pointed at her, Alina isn’t the type to seek violence as a solution. Her speech is honest and clean, and she doesn’t like to resort to physical violence under any circumstance. Perhaps if her loved ones were under a threat would she attempt to halt a conflict before it erupts, but otherwise she tries to keep herself out of harm’s way, away from the dangerous paths to solving problems. She tries to solve things rationally, rather, wishing that people would just be cooperative and behave peacefully; though she’s well aware that in any world, this can’t be the case, and therefore there isn’t anything she can do but let it be. She views herself as a mature person, very well capable of telling right from wrong and rarely experiencing a dark or unjust thought cross her mind. She is a hard-working individual, preferring to dedicate herself to the task at hand, though not always able to resist any distractions or possible obstacles. She does her best to keep herself organized, whether it’s her possessions or the thoughts in her head – but at the same time she’s unintentionally forgetful. She can have a wandering mind subject to daydreams, rendering her oblivious to what’s going on around her until someone or something happens to snap her out of it. In the case, she tends to forget the details of any current event. Luckily she is aware of methods that can help her become more organized, which is a process she slowly works on achieving success for. Coinciding with her habit of absent-mindedness, she can also be a little bit clumsy. She might happen to forget her size and accidentally bump into someone or something, as well as dropping things from her feeble grasp. She’ll be sheepish and embarrassed about small occurrences like these, once more prone to apologizing to anyone it might effect. Intelligent, Alina is passionate for anything of trivial value as well as for learning new things. She isn’t exactly up-to-date with modern technology, but that doesn’t manage to halt her fascination for the modern world – specifically various topics of psychology and science. She loves to learn anything new on any subject however, save for her forgetful tendencies, especially if it means expanding her understanding of people… or working on that thick accent of hers. She still finds English a difficult thing to learn. If someone brings up a topic she is particularly interested in, she might come off as an easily excitable, anxious person. In modern terms, she can rather be a dork. Change is a difficult thing for her to adapt to, especially if it happens rapidly, but she can learn to adjust to things in small steps; especially if it’s for the better of her. If anything can disrupt her train of thought and disarray her more than usual, it’s being under pressure. She can’t process or think well when she’s being evaluated or watched, and something like that usually gets her nerves climbing. Even when this does happen, though, she’ll do what she can not to back out of a situation and simply continue as if the pressure wasn’t there in the first place. Something that doesn’t get her fretting is actually lying. She doesn’t prefer to lie all the time, though she’s able to hold a lie rather well whenever she feels she has to. When she’s in the sort of quiet environment she prefers, or any place where she really feels free to be herself, her demeanor is usually unchanged from its calm and content state. Whenever she approaches someone, she’ll be friendly and to the point – though not everyone gives her the chance to prove herself, she can be a good friend or colleague to others. She has a decent sense of humor and is adept at understanding the feelings and behavior of anyone else, enjoying her self-proclaimed role as a familial figure and mediator to those she interacts with. She, at times, values the lives of others over her own, dedicating herself to providing protection although also very well-suited to protecting herself. There are some measures she won’t want to resort to, but will when situations are particularly heavy. She is as soft and sweet as she looks, but it’s best not to take advantage of her sincerity all the time. |

Trying New Things | Alina doesn’t shy away from opportunities, be it a new type of food or style of outfit. Usually it’s just that she has trouble saying no to people who are offering her anything of consideration, though sometimes she will hesitate and question the outcome of something – but there’s no knowing unless you try it out first, right? She’s a curious person and so, most likely, she’ll be inclined to want and get her hands on something. Pink | This is her favorite color, as shown in the number of pink accessories or garments she likes to wear every day. Since she has a habit of collecting things, and if any item is pink, whether or not it’s of actual use to her, then she’ll want to have it in her possession. She can be distracted easily when walking by store windows or anything of the sort, since the color in general is regarded as a charming little source of happiness for her. Alcohol | Vodka is a staple when desiring a drink, though she doesn't usually choose to drink it plain and straight up. She much prefers mixed drinks of varying flavors and quirky names - even if she might not have any idea what it consists of or be able to pronounce it. When she's truly in a drinking mood, the contents of the alcohol won't even matter to her, as long as it looks and sounds delicious. She doesn't mind any other type of alcohol, either, perhaps save for beer. Her tolerance is fairly high, but she has an impossible time handling her emotions once she's intoxicated and might unconsciously do something embarrassing. Drinking is done for either leisure or to purposely forget something that's troubling her. The City | She loves travelling to new cities and seeing everything that the more modern, bustling world has to offer. Rural life is admired as well for its memories of home, though she knows better to reminisce about where she was previously living and instead move on to adjusting to where she is now. She finds the city as a more enjoyable place to become acquainted with others and find endless things to do. Living somewhere where there's plenty of people also offers the false sense of fitting in someplace without being entirely alone, after all. Outdoors | No matter the occasion, she likes to spend her time outside and under the sun. She tends to follow wherever there’s a warm setting, preferring places that are meant for nice weather and lighter clothing. The beach is one of her favorite areas, as well as anything like a walk through the park or sitting outside the café – simple pleasures, as long as she’s getting some fresh air. Singing | She likes listening to others sing as well as she likes to sing herself. It’s more so a small habitual hobby than any desire to let her voice be heard – she can usually be heard singing quietly under her breath when she’s occupying herself with work or writing or anything else that keeps her busy, so often that she no longer realizes she’s doing it. She also likes to sing lullabies and folk tunes, even if she hasn’t anyone to sing to in particular. Ballet | Alina had admired ballets since she was a young girl, to the point that she aspired to become a ballerina in her later age. Although that particular dream was outgrown, she still holds a soft spot for this cultural staple. She loves going to a ballet at any chance she can get, as well as hearing the pieces of music made known by ballets and seeing the outfits that the women wear. She can perform some ballet herself, but it hasn’t been in practice for a while. Animals | She likes any domestic or wild animal in general, whether or not she’s able to keep one for herself. She has always wanted a pet, but decidedly it’s best she never has had one, since she can’t always be there to take care of it. Either way, she’ll coo over any animal she sees outside of her house. Children | With her maternal and protective nature, she has a soft spot for children of all ages. She is patient when it comes to having her own, and in the mean time she simply enjoys the impending thought of a growing family. Children are once source of comfort for her, sunny and optimistic as they most often are. Science | She could go on forever rambling about how fascinating and expansive the fields of science are. It’s one of her lesser known attributes, at least until someone or something manages to bring it to surface. She has a collection of various textbooks and magazines from over the years, though she still likes to keep them around for whenever the time strikes. Gardens | She doesn’t do much of gardening herself, but flowers of any sort are another source of comfort for her. Just in case she is put up to the duty of tending to them, she has a shovel lying around somewhere in her home. That’s useful, right? Okay, maybe she doesn’t have the greatest experience on how to garden, but having a shovel always seems like a credible feat. Even if it isn’t used for gardening. She doesn’t usually carry it around with her, however. Fashion | Store windows are something that will likely attract her, and she likes to look at the common fashions of society when she’s out in public. She reserves compliments for someone she’s more so well acquainted with, whereas receiving a compliment on the attire she might be wearing herself is a strange custom to her – but either way, she loves flaunting off any colorful and eye-catching garments, new or old, that she has in store. Music Boxes | A staple souvenir which, regardless of the tunes and melodies it plays, will always entertain a nostalgic feeling. Those that she has are all from her home country, most likely the calming twinkle of a well-known native song which helps her feel at ease and without stress. They’re also wonderful to fall asleep to. Holidays | It’s the only possible chance, albeit rarely, that she and her siblings can find time to spend together. Although family time doesn’t usually go as well as she would want it to, considering the differences in personalities... she still manages to hope for the best, even if it means pretending her family is entirely normal to make herself feel better. Holidays are also a warmer time in general for her, regardless of which one it happens to be, and she loves to see public celebration. Architecture | She adores Russia for its onion domes and other colorful and/or religious structures it’s known for. The architecture of her home country has sparked an interest in what the rest of the world can look like. If she passes by a building or statue that stands out among everything else, she’ll have to stop and admire it. Colorful Utensils | She’d much prefer to write using colored pencils and crayons, but of course she doesn’t when that would be unprofessional of her. Although away from work whenever she’s faced with paper, she’ll want to write or doodle using any sort of colorful marker or pencil as opposed to something bland. Other Cultures | The details and backgrounds of a new person is always fascinating. It’s in her nature and is a requirement of her to inquire some certain things whenever she’s faced with someone knew, whether it’s to get specific information out of them or only entertain herself with someone from an entirely different heritage. She likes to hear other accents and languages as well as learn of different customs – currently her strongest interests lie with the Chinese and French. Literature | When scientific textbooks and other educational material aren’t where her nose is, she’ll likely be reading another type of nonfiction or perhaps a good mystery book whenever she has the time. She doesn’t have a specific author she favors and will enjoy just about any of them. Scrapbooks | Pictures are one of her favorite ways to keep a memory, and to keep them together she’ll like to have a scrapbook – at least for the pictures that don’t end up framed and hung up on the wall or on any stand. Maps | She always has to have one to save herself from getting lost, which is one thing she always fears when in a new place. They are rarer to see now that there’s GPS, though she’ll always prefer them; if only because they’re what she’s more used to. Collectibles | Alina has a compulsion to collect and organize anything she has more than one of. So when items are specifically made for being turned into a collection, that’s an even bigger plus. Especially when they’re small trinkets or souvenirs she finds when least expected. Food | She can’t help her affiliation for food, though she does try her best to stay healthy. Save for the occasional sweet, she eats a variety of stews and meats that she likes to cook herself… it’s just the fact that she eats in such large portions that she has trouble keeping her habits down. Of course all the recipes she likes are Russian, though she’s equally eager to try anything else. Tea is also adored. Soft Things | She loves to wear things with fur or anything else that’s soft, fluffy material. She’ll be unable to keep her hands to herself if someone else happens to be wearing similar attire, or if there is an animal present – some of the other things she uses to decorate the interior of her home match up to this as well. | Irregular Weather | She’s picky regarding weather, liking the temperature neither too hot nor too cold. Her greatest abhorrence leans toward the heat, though she doesn’t quite like the frigid cold either. Spring and fall weather are her favorites for the fact that they seem to be just in between, and of course they are the two prettiest seasons to her. Snow and cooler temperatures are exceptions since she does like to bundle up in layers of warm clothing. Her Emotions | She is well aware of her sensitivity and hates whenever it’s triggered, not to mention for the fact that she can’t control it half the time. She feels that her instability of emotions makes her look weak to anyone else that happens to notice it, especially if she’s caught in a mood swing at the wrong place and time. Pain | She has a low tolerance for pain, even if it’s something minor. She tries not to let her dislike of it melt into any huge fear, however. Following the belief of hedonism (humans naturally choose pleasure over pain) she will go with the more painful of options if it does mean benefitting herself for the better – as well as if it means protecting someone more important. Anger/Fighting | Even if her anger is rising, she’ll try to avoid the path of violent solution if she can. She has a variety of means to calm herself down that don’t involve anything violent, and she dislikes to see any such resolution in others. She might even put it upon herself to disrupt a fight if it’s growing too involved, especially between anyone she knows. Being Told What to Do | There can be a stubborn side to her when she particularly doesn’t want to listen to someone. Aside from her actual superiors in work, she doesn’t like to listen or obey to anyone who thinks they’re above her. Vulgarity | She doesn’t see the reason for anyone being vulgar at any given time. She can be naïve about things of that nature, though when something does manage to sink into her head rather than going right over it, she’ll be awfully flustered and offended by such talk. Double Standards | She doesn’t wish to be too strong when it comes to feminism, but she isn’t going to take it when someone expects her to do something differently than or less equal in comparison to a man. She wants to be seen as someone completely unique rather than being judged immediately for her gender. Tattoos/Piercings | There is of course the fact that they're painful, but she's never seen a reason in the first place to want to mutilate your body like that. English | People don’t always realize how terribly English is to learn as a second language. She still has an accent of her first language, and she still finds herself stumbling over large words in English. Don’t get her wrong, she does think it is a beautiful language, though its rules on grammar and pronunciation can seem ridiculous and troubling to remember. Sarcasm | It’s one of the most aggravating things when someone speaks sarcastically to her, even if she may not seem to react to it. If she doesn’t show any sign of hurt or come up with a testy reply, she might just be silently judging you on the inside. Body Shaming | She tries her best to stand up for herself when it comes to her own body, as well as for those of others and of all genders. She can be self-conscious if someone happens to taunt her for her shape, perhaps even to the point that it gets to her completely, but in the end she’ll think that those who find it necessary to shame someone else for their figures are the one at fault. Disobedience | Sometimes she can be adamant when trying to get her point through to someone, and it is irritating when they decide not to listen. It’s a bit hypocritical considering she doesn’t like to listen to all others either, but there are times where she will like to feel a little bit of her own power. She doesn’t very bossy exactly, but it still is a satisfying feeling. Competition | Surprisingly she isn’t that much of a competitive person, and hates it whenever someone deliberately tries to make something a competition between two people. She likes to work at her own pace and in more peaceful conditions, rather than rushing through or overthinking something for the sake of beating someone else. Abandonment | In the case she is exactly seeking company or is desperate to keep someone with her… it’s particularly disheartening when someone chooses to leave her behind. Even if it means leaving her alone in a room when she wishes for attention, minor things such as that can be just as well a dent on her heart as anything else. Make-Up | While she likes to wear fashionable clothing to make herself look beautiful, she very rarely turns to any kind of make-up. The only additional touch-up she might do is painting her nails a different color, though she doesn’t like to use any sort of product on her face. She prefers looking more natural, even if she doesn’t consider herself beautiful all that often. Of course, she doesn’t mind if someone else likes to wear it, it’s just not her own personal fancy. Fast Food | That is not real food. Home-cooked meals not mechanically altered and caked with grease are favored, as well as eating at a real restaurant where pleasant music drifts and course after course of delectable dishes are served. Dog-Eared Books | It’s a pet peeve of hers to see books with folded pages at the corners. She’ll make sure to flatten it out if she ever happens to see one, if only to make her feel better. Disorganization | As implied, she has a lot of personal habits that she must do to make sure everything around her feels neat and organized and nothing is out of place to bother her. Not that she can be perfectly organized all the time, though she’ll take small steps in doing so. |
Dreams | Fears |
Family | She thinks that one day she’d love to have children of her own, though first she has to find whoever her partner will be. She doesn’t mind which gender, honestly, and she isn’t in much of a rush to find someone so soon. She feels that that time will come to her naturally, or perhaps when she isn’t quite expecting it. Peace | It’s such a cliché dream that can only be made in tiny steps by a few people at a time, but it’s still something she likes to hope for. She often imagines how better the world would be if everyone were happy and not in such conflicts with each other, though the tougher thing is imagining how exactly one could achieve making that possible. At least she can work on making the environment she lives in a happier and more peaceful place. Scientific Advancements | Any science advancement in general is exciting, though she one day hopes that she’ll be one of the contributors. For now it’s interesting enough to see where science is going in terms of technology and new theories. Friends | She doesn’t wish for a particularly huge group of friends, but having a few would be nice. The friends that she makes usually don’t tend to stay with her for long – either because she’s moved around a few times, or another reason she isn’t really sure of. Now that she’s settled somewhere again, she hopes she’ll be able to find someone she can be social with and someone who can make her feel a bit more wanted. | Insects | There are only a few exceptions, but insects are frightening to look at and repulsive to think about. She’s squeamish whenever there’s one nearby or if someone ever brings them up, just for the fact that half of them are considered creepy-crawlers who can be on you at any given time and you wouldn’t even know. Those few exceptions are insects that at least look somewhat pretty, so much that they can trick you into thinking that they aren’t repulsive – like ladybugs and butterflies. Guns | Even just being alone in a room with a gun, or knowing that there’s one nearby in the room... it’s really unsettling for her. She couldn’t imagine holding a gun without her hands shaking, and without fearing that it could go off at any given time. She fears them for the sole power that they have, the ability to take away life even with one mishap or slip of the finger; so to avoid the risk of causing damage she doesn’t mean to, she’d rather keep herself away from all guns alike. The only time she can attempt getting over her fear is trying to calmly talk someone out of using a gun. Even if that is nerve-wracking on the inside, she believes that there are many more solutions to solving a problem than something as reckless as that. Getting Lost | She fears never finding her way back when in a crowded or unfamiliar place – of course this can only be a short term problem if she has a method of communication, though the mere thought of getting lost anywhere and missing something important or being late to an event is difficult to bear. Being trapped in the midst of a large crowd of people can make her uncomfortable for that reason. Loss | Deep down she does care very much for her family, enough that she tries her best to keep out any thoughts of losing them – though sometimes those thoughts are stronger than her will to deny them. She’s afraid of losing another family member now that her family feels so small to her, and she doesn’t get to see them very often as is. She can’t imagine herself going on knowing that either one of her brothers aren’t alive and well, so she strives for optimistic thoughts and hoping that they’re strong enough to defend themselves at all times in the real world. Nikolai | She really does care the same for both of her brothers, though there are times where she can’t help but question Nikolai’s antics. His general attachment and protectiveness over her was frightening, since no one has ever acted in such a way toward her – and the fact that he cares for her in a way unlike how she cares for him. She can’t see him as anything more than her dear little brother, and his forward approaches and occasionally obsessive habits always deterred her from her usual sisterly self. Being Unwanted | She doesn’t always mind being by herself, never noticeably bothered by the fact that she’s lonesome – but it’s something different to know that it’s actually because no one wants her. She expects to find someone special for herself in the future, though disrupting that dream of hers to think that no one is ever going to want her… that’s a looming thought that likes to surface and haunt her. Separation | She’ll succumb to separation anxiety if she’s ever parted from someone she really does love. If she spends enough time with a partner to become attached to them, she’ll fear the chance of them ever wanting to leave her behind completely; and in that case sometimes she’ll be a little more attached and clingy than she means to be. She just can’t imagine a relationship going to ruins when she already has everything planned and set for their future together. |
Background |
Alina was born the sole girl of two brothers, fitting right in between them in terms of age. Her place of birth was Kazan, contrary to where her brothers are from and also one of the most populated cities in Russia. While she did end up liking it there and had grown accustomed to the colder winter temperatures, she’d always sought to expand her travels and hopefully find somewhere new to go later on in her life. She had aspirations for seeing the rest of the world, inspired by the beauty of her home country to want to see what the rest of the world had in store. Kazan is well known for its hosting of major sports events and tournaments, though sports never ended up being a forte of hers – and either way, Alina lived with a family who didn’t always stay in the same city for long periods of time. She was a happy child growing up, a curious girl always bright and ecstatic when in the presence of her parents and her older brother. She looked up to them and followed her mother like a shadow, mimicking everything she did out of curiosity and admiration. Of course, such a young girl’s aspirations were set at growing to become a beautiful woman like she believed her mother to be; though Alina also had her eyes set on the ballerinas she’d seen once at a theatre piece. Not only would she grow up to be like her dear mother, but she would grow to become one of Russia’s most beautiful and wonderful ballerinas. Her life was set in stone before she even hit puberty. She acquired a tutu at a toddler stage, which immediately became her outfit of choice each day as well as the source for her affiliation with the color pink. She entertained her family with this idea, and that was really all she needed. She and her family took off, without explanation, to Belarus for the birth of Nikolai. Alina was initially hoping for the arrival of a sister, though the fact alone that she had a little sibling was exciting enough for her. She cooed over her younger brother for years to come, though the general happiness and content she felt within her family was soon diminished within those early years of her younger brother’s life. Losing her mother shattered the light in Alina’s eyes, and no longer was she that optimistic little girl that she’d grown to be. She didn’t quite understand why her mother had to be taken away from her, why she had to be destined to an endless sleep… but she did understand that she was never coming back and Alina would never again have that mother she looked up to so dearly and with such tender admiration. Alina became less social, less willing to make new friends and spend time out of her bedroom. Even while her father and older brother continued to take care of her and her little brother, they had trouble bringing any another smile to the girl’s face. The family in its entirety grew more solemn, though they all learned to move on. Even if it would take a lot of willpower and hard trudging, Alina, too, moved on. She had attained a little fear of losing another family member as suddenly as she had lost her mother, so she began to grow an inner sense of protectiveness over them. She didn’t make many friends going through school, even through all eleven years; though she did acquire many interests and new aspirations past her childhood dream of becoming a ballerina. Puberty hit while Alina’s assets certainly did grow, her inclination to find a partner didn’t – she was awkward when it came to the subject of relationships. However, she was experimental regarding her sexuality, since she did find herself attracted to some of the males in school as well as once having had a massive crush on the famous but deceased ballerina Tamara Karsavina. As her experience in school climbed and her maturity blossomed, she still found herself unable to find a grasp on her emotions. Her mother’s death had shaken her in ways she didn’t understand at the time, though now the stability of her emotions over all was rather faulty and she wasn’t sure how to handle it – and at the same time she didn’t want to seek help from a counselor, either. She never wanted to share any details on what happened to her mother with anyone… though eventually, her father had grown so worried over Alina’s emotional health that he finally pushed her to go and see a counselor. She vented her feelings there and received the help she needed, rendering her grateful toward the person who actually wished to help her. Alina’s expressions of happiness were usually false, though the further she was able to push herself from her childhood incident the better she was able to work on her general, outward positivity. She found methods of keeping herself happier, though not even sessions of counseling could aid her in controlling all of her other emotions. She was, from that point on, sensitive to any small ordeal and usually made fun of for how easy it was to make her cry. Her only method of avoiding this was refusing to make any friends past the small circle of them she’d already attained. Alina stuck to herself in her own studies and interests, having taken a particular interest in science as well as wanting to learn about the job of those counselors – she herself wanted to become someone as helpful as they, someone who could help guide other people through their own personal traumas. While her interest in the sciences was pursued, she also proceeded to study psychology at Lomonosov – a university in Moscow known for its high percentage of science major graduates. From there she graduated with another solid, more realistic career path set for her oncoming future; no longer did she wish do become a nation-wide famous ballerina, but a lesser known psychologist dedicated to helping those in need. She’d helped gather enough money to move to London with her future set, and indeed she was content to have chosen this city of all places. Despite the rainy weather, it was such a diverse city and with many differing cultures; already she took interest in the city and the various traits of potential people to meet, so she was happy enough to finally be in another, entirely different place. From Russia she had taken with her a lovely black music box she was given as a child (this was her favorite tune to listen to and what she used to help her fall asleep and dream well), various matryoshka dolls and a picture of St. Basil’s Cathedral, just a few tokens to make her feel more at home. Though ending up in London lead to much more than what was expected. She only vaguely knew the type of business that her brother was getting into – a dangerous sort of business, that much was clear, an aspect that made her worried for his well-being. Though she trusted her brother was strong enough to protect himself (not that that would keep her from fretting) and, after all, she’d had incidents of an overly affectionate Nikolai causing her some emotional trouble and discomfort in the past. She loved him just as well as she loved her older brother, though there was a time where he’d become just too overbearing. London was intimidating at first for its population and likelihood of getting her lost, but she began to grow accustomed to it once she had settled in and wound herself with her new career. Since the start she’s been doing her best to contribute to the best of M16’s research facilities as well as run her own office on the side, where the feminine and obsessive compulsive woman can work separately as the clinical psychologist she sought to be. |

Entering her office for another day of work meant a number of things. Payment aside, a figment of her mind consoled her with more positive supplements to look forward to: the welcoming feel of the building itself, the chance to make someone’s day and that refreshing scent of comfort and familiarity that greeted her with one step through the door. Little things like this helped get her through the day, as did a variety of false comforts to get her through a night at home. All she needed were these small things to make her feel she belonged. Make her feel like she wasn’t always on her own. Make her forget the burdening lonesome feel. She closed the door quietly and crossed over to where her desk resides, sinking into the seat. Cradled between her palms was a mug, steam dancing off its rim to indicate that the beverage was delightfully warm. Tea was always a high preference to coffee, though she didn’t mind either. Not only did its radiance warm up the entire room, it filled the air with the trickling scent of cinnamon – after all, she did wish for an entirely comforting and homely aura with which her patients could feel entirely cozy and at ease. The mug was placed down on its coaster, lavender eyes scoping over her desk and its contents in one sweep. While waiting for the morning to fold out, she and her restless fingers would always take habit in touching and fixing everything to make sure that it was neat. Perfect. She pushed and turned items in a uselessly small manner to make sure everything was well aligned and nothing was out of place. Of course, there would always be corners of papers sticking out in all places – though she had to resist rearranging those, lest she would lose an important document she shouldn’t have moved in the first place. She was waiting on her first patient of the day, eventually tearing herself from that impulsive rearranging to let herself relax again. Frequent sips were taken from her tea nearby, glasses removed from an inner drawer to be placed upon her nose. They were reading glasses, but she didn’t need them quite that much; she just believed that they made her look better. She pulled a sheet aside to check over its contents, reading over the first and foremost details she knew of this upcoming patient. In this particular time in this particular city of London, she didn’t have any doubt she would be meeting some of the most interesting people. Fear and hushed secrets ran rampant through each street. Such action, such trauma. Not that she didn’t feel sorry for any of them, but personal victims of the cruelest, coldest shadows of London were those that she most looked forward to conversing with. With such predatory human instincts and prey to be found in all corners, it wasn’t unlikely that everyone needed help. |
