Well this is my little space for drabbles, videos, and whatever. I will also be posting stuff here that well.. you know. Nuff said. Have fun.
Well here you go. *smiles gleefully* It is my very first drabble! *excited eyes* I can not really guarantee feels or anything. But I am happy this is my first drabble. You may read and enjoy if you wish.
Hurry. Hurry. One foot in front of the other. Don’t stop.
Luzma could still remember just this morning, her mother had told her if she wanted to stay home.. it had been a grueling night. The thieves that entered the house were not very nice, and Luzma’s mother had decided she needed a break, and she wondered if Luzma would like one to. Luzma said no, that she thought she would be fine, and left for school.
It was a long and boring day. At school, not much except surprise quiz and the usual.
Hurry. This was all she could think. Don’t stop.
Luzma was still remembering, she remembered her father she had to toughen up as they said, not be so chicken, not be so baby. What was that all about. Luzma wasn’t even 15 yet for crying out loud. It had already been a long week. Her mother was a little better but still shaky from last night. Then her brothers they had gotten worried when dad called them, he did let them know that everything was okay… she missed them.
She quickly turned left. Continue. One foot in front of the other. Faster. Faster.
The dawn after that her father decided to keep the shop closed and Luzma and her father repaired the very few weapons they had left. This morning some of the boys teased about her father having done something terribly wrong, because otherwise the police would not have come to Luzmas house. “Did your father shoot somebody?” they asked. “Was one of the weapons illegal?” they taunted. “Did your father shoot your mother?” she was tempted to slap them.
She turned right at the teacher lounge. Her eyes looked quickly left then right.
Luzma had ignored them all morning. Then afterwards was the assembly. It was long and tedious. And the vice principal didn’t want to stop talking, and worst of all he had nothing to say. Afterwards it was recess…Then there came the bullies, the bullies that she decided not to speak a word to the bullies that made her believe she should stay silent. Silent for good.
They just didn’t want to leave her alone… and Luzma had said nothing to them. But they still wanted to bug her, they thought she was sassing them. Then they had enough.
Luzma’s mind raced. And her heartbeat accelerated.
She could hear the footsteps of her aggressors following several hallways behind her the echoes of the soles of their shoes resounding through the hallways. She had probably brought this upon herself. And maybe she deserved it. She felt awful sad. She turned left, and tried to keep her mind clear. They were somewhere in the hallways and were following her. Not closely behind but still following her. She turned left.
Why didn’t I just stay home today? Why did I have to come to school? She felt scared. Being chased by the bullies was not on her list for today. She tried to concentrate. The exit. The exit. The exit to the backdoor of the school was just a few hallways away. But what if a group of bullies was already waiting for her there? This is possible. She kept running. Maybe the teacher’s lounge was alright, but if no teacher was there it would be a dead end. She continued down the hallway and turned left. Her hair whipping behind her, it seemed to wave goodbye to the classrooms she had just run by.
She wished her brothers were here.. surely she could run behind them for protection like always.. but they were so far away… her heart ached- NO. This was not the time to feel bad she had to think of options, of ways to get out of here. There had to be another exit in the building, there had to be. She stopped to catch her breath. Her heart was pounding and her hands were sweaty and clammy, she bent down placing her palms on her knees. Sweat suddenly popped out on her forehead, she wiped it off with her the back of her right hand. She breathed heavily. She could still hear the footsteps pounding down the hall. Stop breathing so heavily they will hear you! She stopped her panting and continued pulling mighty heaves of air through her nose. She felt awful scared. They are close by… I gotta hurry they might pop out of nowhere in any second, she thought. But I gotta catch my breath.. she shook off these thoughts. She didn’t know how long she spent trying to catch her breath but letting herself feel scared wasn’t going to help her, she tried to calm her heartbeat by taking slower breaths. She walked into the next hallway, and looked slowly left then right. Making sure no one was nearby.
I have to get out of here. Breathe slowly. I will tip toe into the next hallway if I have too.[/color]She stood next to the door to the English teachers room. Should I run? She could hear the group of girls walking.. maybe I should keep moving. Quickly, and carefully.
Luzma suddenly felt bad, she had used him and didn’t really care much for him, and hid herself behind him out of pure fear. He probably hates me now. She thought. Well I might as well.. I probably deserve it… pff.. I probably deserve to get hurt… But I am scared her heart croaked. She was a true coward she knew she couldn’t face such a thing as to let herself get hurt. But still what could she expect....
… I am not part of his family… I shouldn’t expect him to protect me.. neither should I expect anyone to help me.. I mean… why should anyone care about me? If I am nothing of theirs?
“THERE SHE IS!” Her heart jolted. She turned and ran to the right. The girls following behind. Now that they spotted her she was not going to get away.
It is only natural people will only protect and take care of their own kind… because in the first place no one else will care about anyone else except for their own kin… and in some cases their selves.
I am completely alone… right now. I probably deserve it, but I don’t like it. A tear managed to escape her eye. My family is not here right now. Another tear. But why should anyone else help me? She huffed. Don’t stop running. Don’t stop running. Why should anyone care? I probably deserve this. Luzma felt more tears come down her face. She suddenly realized she was sobbing, she didn’t stop herself this time.
A muffled huff escaped her throat… A teacher! There has to be a teacher somewhere. I don’t care, if I deserve this or not. I don’t want to get hurt... she huffed, and rubbed the tears from her face with the back of her left forearm, her vision was getting blurry. Will they beat me up till I lose consciousness, will they pull my hair? Will they humiliate me in public? Will they stick my head in the toilet?[/i] Her heart raced. There was a billion things that could happen and every one of them frightened her.
She remembered the time they wanted to pull that girls hair out… but the science teacher intervened…The science room! The science room at the back of the school! How could I have forgotten?! It was the best exit to take. And what luck?! The room is only a few steps away.
She stopped sobbing at the realization that maybe there was a way out of this mess. She sharply turned to the right then groped the handle of the door to the science room and ran inside. Her hands trembled as she let go of the handle. She had probably made it to the exit, but there was no time to waste, this didn’t mean that they couldn’t catch her.
She ran out the door and let go of the handle hearing the door slam roughly. She kept running down the small parking lot. Regretting that she hadn’t barricaded the door to the science room, but not bothering to turn around and barricade it, that would be a stupid thing to do… and she kept running. She didn’t stop, and didn’t look behind, until she was home, safe and sound in her room. Well more like safe and sound under her bed anyway.
Done.
