[attr="class","surprise"] SERENDIPITY It was fair enough to say Feliciano Dionisio Virgilio Leonardo Vargas was not the brightest bulb in the pack. He was a bright bulb, yes, but in genius, there is often madness. Genius is madness, and curiosity is food for the mad. The extent of his curiosity was limitless. The common sense was not proportional to his curiosity. To Feliciano, common sense could be uncommon when curiosity took over. He often wrote for the "softer" topics on the Crown Royale Gazette, meaning he often wrote for the in-newspaper magazine. He attended those fashion shows, interviewed women on lifestyle, conversed with the hottest celebrities over a martini to give accurate gossip (if gossip could be considered accurate). No one at the office thought it was a good idea to send Feliciano to Scotland Yard for crime reports, and most certainly not to government offices for political issues. But he would show them how capable he was of those sort of things. Perhaps it was simply overhearing a conversation between two of his coworkers about how he would be a talented writer in those departments, but a horrible investigator that got to him. It was known that he wouldn't do articles if he didn't do the actual on-hand investigation himself. He insisted upon it, really. He didn't have the proper motivation if he didn't go out exploring by himself. Being given notes from someone else didn't feel good enough to write a proper article, anyhow. He lost a whole personal layer of actually experiencing things if he were only given a sheet of notes and a tape that contained a recorded interview. Now then, the reason why it was said that he was not the brightest bulb in the box as the fact that he wasn't very... good at choosing a safe location to search for stories. Or he was much too genius. The Aylesbury Estate was steeped in stories of crime, intrigue, and sensuality. The young reporter was unarmed (after all, why would a cowardly man such as Feliciano Vargas carry a weapon around? though it won't necessarily be said that he hasn't shot a gun before...) in the sense of street smarts and actual weaponry. He was, however, armed with smooth-talking charm, charisma, a casual tailored Italian suit, and his reporter's notebook and phone with camera and recording capabilities. Now then, let's hope to not break ourselves too badly, shall we? The streets of Aylesbury are most certainly not the cleanest, and a man of his demeanor most certainly stood out... |
