INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless Elizaveta had come to the zoo with a friend, but she had no idea where she'd run off to. Maybe with her boyfriend--they'd spotted him a little while ago and she had disappeared soon after that.
It annoyed Elizaveta somewhat, but she figured that she might as well let her friend go and have fun. Leaving them alone was probably the best idea until Anna texted her or something.
But for now, Elizaveta had plenty of time to be wandering around the zoo by herself.
It was a little lonely, to be honest. Elizaveta liked company. She liked people and weekends were often Elizaveta's favorite part of the week. Ah, well. Elizaveta could deal with most animals. Besides, it was certainly better to explore the zoo than stand here awkwardly like an idiot.
Elizaveta pulled out the map and began to wander through the different exhibitions. The zoo was overwhelmingly gigantic. Elizaveta had been there several times on dates and with friends and she'd never quite seen everything. There were always new animals to see, special showcases, everything.
Today, she chose the aquarium. Elizaveta had always loved water and even though the aquarium was one of the basic staples of most zoos, she still took much pleasure in staring at the fish making their way through the tanks, swimming joyfully. She smiled a little at the little children tugging on their parents' hands, pointing at the different species.
But it was all things that Elizaveta had seen before and despite her best efforts, the aquarium was beginning to lose her interest. More than that, there were too many people here today and Elizaveta honestly felt rather suffocated. Sure, Elizaveta liked people and crowds, but not when they were everywhere. In the dim light of one of the large exhibits, Elizaveta looked at her map and began to search for somewhere else she hadn't been.
Hmm. Perhaps Butterfly Paradise? But she'd gone there on one too many dates, no. Something else. Penguin Beach wasn't too far away and it was unusually warm today. Elizaveta could use some cooling down.
Having come to a decision, Elizaveta quickly made her way towards the aquarium's exit. There was a show or something near the exit, making the crowds exceptionally hard to squeeze through. As Elizaveta left the darkness of the aquarium, she squinted in the bright light from the sun and couldn't quite make her way out. She squeezed between a few people and didn't quite notice the person standing in front of her.
Oomf. Elizaveta had a head-on collision. She nearly fell over, though she steadied herself on the wall.
Maybe she really shouldn't have tried to push through the crowd so desperately. She really wasn't in a rush after all. What a stupid idea.
"Are you okay?" Elizaveta asked the stranger she'd bumped into. "Sorry, I was in a bit of a rush." | words 481 tags #Gilbert notes

Why had he decided to come to the zoo? That was the one thing Gilbert had been asking himself for hours. The answer was simple really, come here and get a story on the changes they were thinking of enforcing in the different programs. Looking down at his notes, they were plans of changing their operating hours and changing the price of admittance, raising it a few dollars to help pay for the special nutritionist they needed for the sick animals, one that knew how to feed them properly to help make them stronger, combined with the medication from the vet. Of course this was what his notes said, but anyone who didn’t know his coding system would think it was a bunch of chicken scratch, there were lines everywhere, combined with random numbers and letters and symbols.
With a sigh, he put his notebook away. Well, since he was here, he was going to enjoy his free pass around the zoo and see the animals, especially the monkeys. And the penguins. They were so cute the way the waddled, one foot in front of the other. And the way they slid across the ice just made him wants to cuddle them and take them home. He already had stuffed animals that he would deny having bought for himself, and his winter earmuffs were rabbits. Heck, he liked cute things a lot, who wouldn’t? His room had a shelf with the stuff he bought, and just say its lucky he lived alone so he could have these cute things.
Stopping to look around, he saw a sign that showed the closest way to the monkeys and penguins was to cut through the aquarium. Nodding to himself, he set off, only briefly glancing at the fish. The fish were interesting with all their different colors, but they didn’t do much beside swim around. Once he was close to the other exit, there were a lot of people there, crowded around for no reason that Gil could see. About to push through it to get out, someone ran into him just as he was taking a step and knocked him sideways, into the wall.
"Are you okay?"
“The hell?”
“Sorry, I was in a bit of a rush."
“Ja, I can tell, watch where you’re going before you hurt someone . Of course not me. You couldn’t have hurt me if you’ve tried.”
He grinned big with that one, yes it was a bit of a dick, but she had pushed him. Really, she was lucky he didn’t push her back. He’d like to think he was a bit more mature than that. Would like to think yes, didn’t mean he was.

INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless "The hell?" There was a definite annoyance in the man's voice.
Elizaveta blinked. Ah, well, she'd be pretty pissed if someone ran into her like that as well. She felt rather bad, to be honest. She really should have been looking. Elizaveta dusted off her dress and was about to head off. No use in lingering here for much longer.
For the first time, Elizaveta actually got a good look at who she bumped into. The shock of white hair on his head, matched with a startling pair of red eyes...Elizaveta was a little surprised. She wasn't sure what she'd expected, but it hadn't been...this.
The albino man seemed to recover fairly quickly, to Elizaveta's relief. "Ja, I can tell, watch where you’re going before you hurt someone." Elizaveta didn't say a word. Well, that would be that. Already, Elizaveta was about to head back out. Maybe she'd leave early.
"Of course, not me. You couldn’t have hurt me if you’ve tried."
...What did he say?
There was a cocky grin on the man's face, a confidence and arrogance that immediately rubbed Elizaveta the wrong way. Her eyebrow twitched. Was he serious?
"Excuse me?" Elizaveta said, her voice dangerously sweet. "Was that a challenge I just heard?" She took a step towards the albino man and without even thinking, she punched him.
It was a hard punch to the gut. Elizaveta may even have felt a little bad about it. Really, Elizaveta shouldn't be reacting this way. She wasn't a kid on the playground any longer. She had been fairly certain she'd gotten her anger under control recently. But the punch was really all too satisfying. Because that comment really had pissed Elizaveta off and really, she didn't regret it in the slightest.
"Sorry about that," she said, unable to keep the cheerful tone out of her voice. "I'm sure you're alright though, after all, I couldn't hurt you if I tried, right?"

"Excuse me, was that a challenge I just heard?"
Keeping the grin on his face, he just shrugged. If she took it as a challenge it was none of his worry; after all, what was she going to do, step on his foot? Before thinking about the reply, he opened his mouth to say those exact words, but was halted rather forcefully. Feeling his breath being force out of him, a pain blossomed in the middle of his abdomen. Doubling over from not being braced for it, a fact gilbert would later claim as the only reason for him doubling over, he held one arm around his stomach as the free one braced the wall behind him. Fingers dug into the stone as he breathed in, trying to get his lungs to work again. Each small breath was painful, each gasp was short as he tried to breath through the pain.
Lifting his head slightly to where his red eyes glared from under silver hair, he growled. He couldn't hit her back, though he had no doubt he could hurt her back. He wasn't five years old and he was usually above hitting back in retaliation, at least in public where he could get arrested, at least. He wouldn't potentially jeopardize his job because of this person.
"Sorry about that, "I'm sure you're alright though, after all, I couldn't hurt you if I tried, right"
Coughing a bit, he straightened up and shook his head a bit. It took a second, but that grin he always showed in public covered his face as quickly as it left. It was that cocky grin, the one that said I'm alright and nothing can bring me down. This was his defense mechanism to keep people from knowing exactly how he was hurt. Gilbert thought he'd have to be in severe pain or near dying to keep it off his face, even then that wasn't a guarantee.
"Ja, I'm peachy, never felt better actually. Now that you’ve tried to hurt me, you owe me a drink."

INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless Elizaveta watched as the man doubled over, gasping as he braced himself against the wall. It took the man a moment to recover. Elizaveta was certain she'd punched hard. Still, enough was enough. Elizaveta wasn't completely unreasonable. She may have even felt a little sorry for the man. It did suck to get punched. Not that he didn't deserve it.
Elizaveta was fully prepared to leave now and was just about to do that when the man spoke up.
"Ja, I'm peachy, never felt better actually." Elizaveta looked up at him again. There was a cocky grin on his face, though it seemed to be mixed with an expression of pain. Had to give this guy points for resilience...or maybe arrogance. "Now that you’ve tried to hurt me, you owe me a drink."
Elizaveta raised an eyebrow. This guy really could not let his invincible demeanor down. Well, if Elizaveta couldn't have knocked him down a few pegs, then he was probably hopeless. "Do I really?" she asked, tilting her head to the side as if considering. "I thought we were only just about even. And I'm hardly treating someone I don't know to a drink.
"Besides," Elizaveta said, giving him an almost concerned look. "Seems like you might be out of it for the day. You really think getting a drink in the middle of the afternoon's a good idea? Might want to rest it up until tomorrow.
"But," Elizaveta added, "if you're really all that desperate for something to soothe your pride with, I wouldn't mind aiding you a little with that." She smirked a little at the man. "I'm sure it'd be a nice break for you. Unless you'd like to hang around with the little fishies for a little longer?" She nodded at the aquarium. "I don't know, they seem like your type. You know, swimming mindlessly around for no reason." | words 316 tags Gilbert notes Really short, sorry about that. ;n; |
