Hello everybody. It’s Joselle here and I would like to present to you a new system. As the title suggests, it is call the ‘Tribunal system’. Now, the name might raise a couple of flags and it may sound intimidating. It shouldn’t be because this system is very simple. Staff members will proctor the Tribunal system as a way to check who is on hiatus and the hiatus duration during each period of activity checks. This is the only way to be entirely exempt for ONE activity check , provided that reasonable excuses and dates are given professionally.
As established before, activity checks lasts for three weeks from the first day of the month. If a member knows they will be busy during those three weeks of the activity check, they are required to submit a letter to the staff members during the first week and a half of the month. That letter will entail the reason for being dismissed from the activity check and the duration of the leave, meaning an exact start date and end date, even if the dates in real life are tentative. It is expected that the member will come back by the end date that was promised. Thereafter, he or she must confirm with a staff member via private message or private chat whether the hiatus is officially over or if it needs to be extended. In a chance that no staff members are present or active, sending any kind of message on the board will be acceptable as long as it is on the same day as the end date.
If, in any situation, the hiatus is predicted to stretch over two activity check periods (two months), every member interested must wait until the first month is over before submitting another appeal to the staff members in a similar fashion. If it is accepted, the member will be excused for another period. However, note that more hiatuses issued consecutively may result to a potential drop.
This is all done under the concept of common courtesy and organization. We acknowledge that life can sometimes be hectic and busy and we want to do our best to help give you less things to worry. However, it is our job to facilitate the forum, and the moment you join, you are a part of the community we organize. It is only fair that we know when to hear from you during hiatuses. For one, we want to make sure you are okay. Secondly, we don’t want to linger in uncertainty, because absence hinders our ability to control all aspects of the board. Thirdly, we only want to know your reasoning for hiatuses so that we can be on the same wavelength as your rationale behind the number of days you take off. You may omit any personal detail, but know that we will not say anything to anyone outside of the committee if you choose to confide in us.
So please, be aware of your calendar because this is a useful tip in life to keep yourself organized. We are flexible, but please do not take us for granted. This forum we maintain is for fun, but we put a lot of effort into organizing this community, and we expect all of you to put in as much effort while being with us until the moment you leave us. This is a community effort, and we’d greatly appreciate if you inform us about any potential events that can hinder roleplaying so we can adjust accordingly. Thank you.
