Caring: She's a kind person, always wanting to help someone out when it's needed. Even if she's busy, she'll find time to step away from her schedule and give her aid to a random passerby. With that being said, it wouldn't be hard for someone to take advantage of her kindness. Relaxed: Sometimes it can be seen as laziness, but Athena always takes things slow. Why rush and end up making a mistake when it's just easier to take time and get it right the first time? She makes sure not to have too much to do, since it would only lead to unwanted stress. Stubborn: If she has an opinion, it would take a lot of persuading to make her even consider listening to you. Once she's made up her mind, there's no changing it. Short-Tempered: She has a short fuse, but she doesn't really express her anger all that much. She might yell a bit then go off to simmer down before returning to what she was doing. If you were to cross her, there is a chance that you'll earn a silent treatment for a while or so. Passionate: If there's something she enjoys, she can talk about it endlessly. She gives everything her heart and soul, even if to some it doesn't seem worth putting so much effort. She can't help if she gets so worked up over her interests that she ends up spending hours on the subject. Sensitive: She tries to come off as strong, but in all realty just a few wrong words can make her shed some tears. She tries to laugh off any insults and pretend everything is alright around others, just bottle up those feelings and pretend they don't exist, but once she gets home she'll curl up on her bed and cry, no longer able to keep those feelings in any longer. She's trying to get help for that, since it wouldn't be good if she ended up having an emotional breakdown. Submissive: She doesn't like to be the one in charge, she's always a follower doing what is asked of her. Of course, there are lines she won't cross and will voice her complaints. Though other than that, she does as she's told when she's told it. Sadly, it makes her a bit easy to manipulate. Strong-Willed: Once she has her mind set on something, she will stop at nothing to do it. It may takes days, weeks or months even, to accomplish her goal, but she'll keep on going. She doesn't give up easily, even when she really should. Shy: She finds it a bit hard to break the shell she has around her to talk to someone she doesn't know. If she were to help a stranger, she'll stutter a few times and even be at a loss for words at a few times. She gets flustered easily when she gets complimented, even if it's something as small as "You look nice today". She tries to get out of her comfort-zone at times, but each attempt ends in failure. Friendly: She always tries to be nice to others, even if they have wronged her in the past. She might hold a grudge, yes, but she'll put it aside since grudges only do more harm than good. |

Time With Her Family: Her family meets a lot to her, so even a few minutes with them makes her day a whole lot better. They always manage to clear up her cloudy day. Cats: Those cute little balls of fur are good company. They're so sweet and adorable. She loves how they can be so curious and adventurous. The only thing she doesn't appreciate is the dead rats at the door of her apartment... Food: Be it sweet, spicy, sour, savory, it doesn't matter. She just enjoys experiencing the different tastes, and how varied it can be in one single dish. Shopping: She doesn't go all out like most women her age tend to do, but sometimes she does have the urge to. She tries her best to limit herself to things she needs, though a few pairs of shoes can't be helped. She swears they were just calling out to her! Mythology: Not just only Greek, but every culture's. She finds the different deities that cultures believed in fascinating, and comparing them to others. They're just so different and amusing, she never gets bored with it. | Gambling: It's a bit ironic, since she does work in a casino and is surrounded by it. She doesn't really mind if others do it, but doing it herself is a big no. Being Hit On: Being the shy girl she is, most romantic, and sexual, advances on her are just too much for her to handle. It makes her really uncomfortable, to the point where she'll excuse herself and quickly walk away. Lying: Whether she's doing it or it's being done to her, she doesn't like it one bit. Despite that fact, she always has to lie about her job to people, even her own brother. Especially her brother. She doesn't know what she would do if he found out she worked at the casino. Models: Only some, the ones that are stuck-up. She feels bad for the ones who have to go so much just to feel "beautiful". Of course, there isn't much she can do to help the ones she pities. She is nothing more than a showgirl, after all. Coffee: She loves the taste, but she feels as if she's having too much of said drink. She's trying to replace it with something like tea or even smoothies of some sort. |

Leave Her Job: It's a fairly good one, but she can't be a show girl forever. She's waiting for the day she no longer has to work at the casino, but until then she'll do what she has to. Though, she still has to think about whether or not she'll keep being a broker once she's left. Drink Coffee Again: She's just taking a break from it, but one day she'll go back to it. Well, hopefully. Visit Her Parents: She knows her siblings all went their separate ways, but her parents are most likely in the same place. She would like to see them and tell her how...interesting her life in London has been. Besides, she misses her mom's home cooking. | Her Brother Finding Out: What if he rejects her? What if he's just disappointed in her for it? She can't bear the thought of losing her brother due to the fact she's a showgirl. Clowns: No, just no. They're just too creepy, with those painted on smiles. She wouldn't be surprised if one turned out to be a psychotic murderer. Her Heart Being Broken: It's bad enough when on the job, guys want to hook up with her just on her looks. She wants a nice, steady relationship. One that won't end up with her in tears. |
Background |
Born and raised in Greece, the youngest child out of five children, Athena was usually the one to get teased the most. And since she was born on the 1st of April didn't help either. Every year since she was four she usually got pranks instead of actual presents. Her parents at least were caring enough to put pranks aside just for her, though her siblings weren't as loving. From fake roaches in her bed to pudding in her shampoo bottle, she's just about seen it all. Of course, she never said anything about the pranks hurting her feelings. Why ruin their fun on a holiday that was meant for fun? All teasing aside, she really did love her siblings. She felt bad they had so much put on the older ones's shoulders. Of course, being the youngest she couldn't exactly do much but try to relieve them from their stress with a bit of playtime. She never knew what exactly she wanted to be when she was younger. She had so many different things she wanted to try, but being at a casino wasn't one of them. Or spreading "gossip" around as much as she does. Athena did want to be a teacher, especially a kindergarten one. She always found teaching kids to be interesting, though she wasn't sure she was up for the job. She would probably end up getting bossed around by the children too much. She wasn't the best student, always turning assignments in late and never getting to class on time. She tried her best and she did make it through school with well enough grades. They weren't the best, but they were good enough. She stayed in Greece for a few years after graduating high school. She waited a year before started college, since she wanted to have a break before getting more education. College went slightly better, the woman getting mostly Bs with a few As here and there. The side job she had wasn't the best, but she was trying to save up the money for her goal. And her goal? To live in London. She was fascinated by the city since she first saw pictures of it while doing a project for one of her courses. Once she got home she looked it up and fell in love with the city. Of course, she would miss her home but she couldn't just give up her dream without trying to make it a reality. It took a while, but eventually she made enough. With that being said, she said her goodbyes and left for her new home. The big city was a bit overwhelming at first, but Athena tried her best to adapt to it. She found a nice apartment in her price range, though finding a job was a bit of a problem. She knew limited English, and she didn't exactly know where to start in looking for a job. One day she stumbled into the casino, and, out of pure luck, managed to get hired. She was, and is still, grateful for the job, and she loves it too. More than anything. Her boss is nice, her coworkers are pleasant...well, most of them are, the others she can tolerate. Besides, who knows what she might overhear while on the job. A big city has big secrets, and you never know when one might just so happen to slip. |

Athena looked at the tank in front of her and sighed. It was nice to go out during the day, not have to really worry about much. Just being able to walk around, enjoying the weather, whether or not it was rainy. She decided to come to the aquarium because, well, she never really had time to go to it before. Besides, seeing fishes swim around was a bit amusing...in a way. Some people seemed to be enjoying it far more than her, but those were usually the children walking around with their parents. Occasionally, a few would apologize to her about their kid's loud exclamations, but she only said a soft "It's fine" before waving to the kid as they drag their guardian elsewhere. Yes, it was a nice day so far, that she had to admit. The Greek woman was currently staring at the jellyfish, watching them just float about their tank. She was pretty sure they were her favorite sea creature, well, besides angelfish. She liked how they just floated around, minding their own business, free from almost everything. They had it easy... Perhaps that's why she was fascinated by them. They always seem so carefree... Though, despite looking so beautiful they were dangerous. Well, some were. Their sting was something to beware, that she knew. Nevertheless, she still loved the little creatures. She reluctantly pulled away from the tank and look at the larger one with a multitude of fish, varying in species. She smiled slightly, seeing a few clown fish make their way by. It only grew when she heard a child nearby saying that it was Nemo. She hummed softly to herself, letting her eyes wander around the sight. There were so many colors, from fish to coral. She was surprised how many different patterns each kind of fish had, from simple ones to far more complex ones. It was breathtakingly beautiful...she wishes she was able to visit more often. She had other things to do, things more important than going to a zoo. She was glad she made time to come, since it really lightened up her day, even though it was bright to begin with. |
