“There are plenty of things in a florist shop that can hurt you.” Lili hopped over the water, her little shoe clacking against the hard surface of a rock sitting in the shallow, flowing water escaping from the pool at the waterfall’s base. “If you aren’t careful, a stray thorn or splinter will get under your fingernail!”
Lili grinned, her other foot coming into contact with the dry ground on the opposite side as she hopped a bit again. “I can handle it.”
She turned and gave the Irishman a bright grin. She was already on her way up this trail he’d pointed out, waiting for him to follow. Clearly she knew where she was going, right? Ah, no… not really. But explore she must. This was a gorgeous area that needed to be logged in her mind on that list of places she’d visited. It added another location to the list of places that gave Vash a heart attack.
She had a lot of lists…
“If you don’t wear gloves with some plants, they prickle and sting you, and you’ll get a nasty rash. Some plants have sharp leaves that can cut the skin, and some just mess with your nose.” She continued as she turned back to the trail, beckoning Donald onward. “Believe me, it’s a life or death situation every day where I work! You can’t imagine the monsters that lurk in those flower pots, from ladybugs to caterpillars… to the occasional aphid or grasshopper. Monsters indeed.”
Monsters that, as of late, were only slowly starting to come back. Winter had faded by now and spring was quickly approached, with cool, comfortable air now surrounding the pair as they continued on their adventure. Newborn insects and animals would soon emerge from their dens and then Lili would have to defend against the terrors that lurked once more.
