If Athena thought Nicoleta was nice... well, he had a few things to say to that. It wasn't untrue, she was certainly capable of sweetness but it was a rarity he had to provoke. The question about their mother, though... she recalled it so easily. The wound was still fresh in the family. Athena was the only member of his family that still bothered to talk to him, the only one who continued to support him even in the aftermath of the discovery of his fling with that young man...-- "...Well, mother w-was rather upset. Some times she was crying, o-other time she was just so angry... Well, enough a-about that. No use talking b-bringing up such memories. All that m-matters is that we're together again, r-right?"
Of course. He expected as much. Mother was a demanding, emotional woman, who always seemed to have trouble getting her feelings in order. He was not surprised in the least. In fact, he expected she was still angry at him for what he did, and also felt she would never forgive him. That hurt, of course... but there was nothing he could do. He regretted it sometimes, but the damage was dealt long before the marriage fell through and he didn't like ever going back to that.
... there was no shortage of relief to know Athena was here, though. He granted her a small smile. "Alright, get a move on. Go!" Heracles nudged her forward. "It's not that far, just head this way towards the main road and the place is just across on the other side. It's within walking distance."
It wasn't as if it was that cold outside... what an over-exaggeration. "Are you really that cold, Athena? You want my jacket?" As he said this, the jacket started to come off. He'd be fine.
