GENERAL RULES |
Abide to Proboards rules One does not simply stress this enough. We do not allow adult content here. This means no graphic sexual scenes; no graphic sexual images. Break this rule once or twice, and we will remind you. Break this rule thrice and you can expect what would happen next: a ban of your account. Respect Everyone here must be capable of giving respect to others. It simply does not matter if one is a staff member or not, this includes guests. Plagiarism It is not tolerated on Tomorrow Never Dies. If we discover that you have stolen someone else's work, we will ask you to remove it. If you don't, we will. If you also read this far, put in your required item one your favorite color. One Character Per Account If you want a new character, make a new account. Also no OOC accounts. We don't need them. Only staff get OOC accounts since we're doing mod posts. With the new quick switch feature on the bottom right of your internet window (first image with the two people), managing accounts is easier. Keep it in the PM/IM's As much as we love a good drama, we do not want OOC drama to interfere with the enjoyment of others in the RP. We kindly ask for you to sort it out elsewhere. Mods are willing to help you too, so feel free to ask us. Activeness It's understandable that one is unable to post a single day or log on every day. However, we kindly ask of you to try to keep with us if you decide to join. If you need to leave for a while, let us know by posting on the hiatus board. It is hard to keep track on hiatuses if you don't post there, so we only acknowledge hiatuses posted on the board. You have to update it monthly, unless you give us an estimate date of return. If you can't post hiatus/update it for some reason, you may ask other member to do so. Activity Checks They happen every month and lasts from the 1st-22nd (any posts made after the 22nd count towards the check for the next month). This means one post every four weeks at the minimum. For more information about AC policies, click [Activity Check] on the Navigation links. Account Names When registering and having your character accepted, please change your display name to the first and last name of your character, making sure to use proper capitalization. Liquid Role-Play This is a liquid roleplay. Meaning your character can be in unlimited amount of threads at the same time. Please post your threads in the appropriate boards. PG-13 This role-play is PG-13. As in no rape, brutal murder, or other terrible crimes to be narrated. Profanity, sex, drugs, etc that are not described in great detail is allowed... but there's that fine line. Sex is fade-to-black as always. I lied, put your favorite joke in the required item one instead of the favorite color. |
ROLE-PLAY RULES |
Characters We accept Canons, Nyotalias and OC's. However, no rivers, cities, provinces, oceans, planets, Narnia, Neverland, Albion, and anything of the like. Ancient civilizations like the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece should be discussed with staff first. In Character If you are not in character during RP in IC threads, we reserve the right to discuss the matter in a PM. Grammar Awareness You must be keen to the correct use of grammar, punctuation, and the literary devices. We are aware there are RPers who are not native English speakers, and RPers with learning disabilities, but an effort should be made to keep posts coherent (word usage) and readable (punctuation). Mods will be happy to help polish grammar if needed. Racism Given that this is Hetalia we know there will of course be representations of ethnic conflict. However, we encourage you not to put ethnic or nation groups in your dislikes in your sheets when you do your sheet. We of TND do not endorse racism, ethnocentrism, or xenophobia of any shape or form. Make the issue a personal one, not an ethnic one. Word Minimum Since we are a literate Hetalia role-play, our word minimum would have to be three hundred words - as in three good paragraphs. We understand that some days, it's hard to write up replies, but it is also hard to reply to a short post. No Powerplay There's no excuse. As much as we all enjoy seeing our characters magically dodge every single bullet shot at them or predicting every single rule, it's not fair to others. Meta-gaming and god-modding are also included as not to do. Killing You are allowed to kill NPC's in this RP. However it must come with a reasonable explanation and a small battle scene. Of course, you are not allowed to kill a person's character without their consent. If you have read up to this far congratulations. You now need to include your favorite number in the required number two too. Reservations You can reserve two characters immediately. Put your reservation in the reservation thread. A reservation lasts for a week, and so does an extension. If you haven't finished your application in a week, you may ask for an extension or re-reserve later. Applications You may post an application in the Pending Files board. Title your application in this format: Name || Country. You may post works-in-progress, but be sure to mark it with [WIP]. If you haven't heard anything from us after five days since your application's completion, feel free to ask a mod about your application's acceptance. Some applications need to be examined thoroughly and it may delay their acceptance. Multiple Characters As stated above, you may reserve two characters without meeting any activity requirement.. However, in order to get a third character you must provide 15 IC posts for each character; which means 30 IC posts in total. If you want a fourth character, you must provide 15 IC posts with your third character, and a fifth character requires another 15 IC posts with your fourth character. You can have up to 5 characters. Lies once more, instead of writing your favorite number in the second required slot, tell us how you found our forum. Reading the Rules Because before you role-play, you gotta read the rules, which you are reading right now. Good. Good. I unfortunately cannot stress this as we need to know that everyone know our guidelines and that if they get a warning for breaking any of them, they would know the reason why and claim that they just didn't know. Because ignorance is still not an excuse. |
THE RULES OF LONDON |
These are the fun rules that you probably should know about London. You don't exactly need to read these rules, but they're important in the roleplay. Agent Honor Code You have to be 21 years old minimum to be an agent. As an Agent, you never involve a civilian that is not already involved in a convoluted case. Meaning you can't be asking civilians for help on cases unless you are simply asking questions. You can't hand a gun to a civilian and ask them to fight with you. As an Agent, you aren't allowed to give away your occupation as well, even to family members or lovers. In most cases, families never knew that their family member had worked in the MI6 until it's a bit too late, in which the MI6 sends the family a respectful written statement about the end of the person. If you reveal your occupation, the person is coerced into joining the MI6, you are excommunicated, given a new identity, and might be mind-wiped, or if you're that troublesome, you might be wiped off the face of the Earth, depending on the circumstances. Researcher Ethics A Researcher must practice a sort of balance of ethics when it comes to the research they do and the weapons they equip their employers with. They must think about how much damage the person could do, and are the suffering effects ethical. Of course, you may be a bit sadistic and just decide to destroy things, but because of how much security is in London, even the smallest alley cannot hide the secrets of biological warfare weapons. Things like cloning and human experimentation is (usually) ethically off limits unless forms are signed. Broker Neutrality Brokers usually filch on this rule and share with one side exclusively, but brokers are technically neutral in nature. But this doesn't stop people from one side preferring one broker than another. A broker usually shouldn't bar their services from anyone, but who said their services were known to everyone? Usually, brokers don't sell to civilians (unless you're a reporter). Selling government and MI6 secrets usually will get you quite a bit of jail time if anything. Do be wary of the consequences from either side. Who do you fear more? Corrupt Yourself There are two types of politicians in this world. The corrupted by desire and the corrupted by money. And then you have those rare, pure and uncorruptable types. You are allowed to corrupt yourself. No matter how pure of a politician you are, there will be people waving money and power and you to get you to do their will and raise their status. It's your choice whether you should become corrupted or not. Even the kindest politicians have been corrupted before. The Private Investigation Agency Oh, you want to start your own investigation and be a Private Investigator (the suave Private I?) Then start your own Agency! You get to wear your own brown cap, type dramatically on a type writer, and your office will be in the dramatic black and white film-esque presence. If you are an independent and wish to fight crime, you'll have to pick up cases from Scotland Yard. Police officers usually take requests from Scotland Yard, but Independents are welcome to take their pick, as long as you appear respectable and serious. If you want an agency, you need to assemble a team. This is very important, you won't be able to get a case if you forget. At least two other people. They don't have to be independents, they can be civilians, but the leader of said team needs to be an Independent, and you need to bring your team along and they must be capable of fighting crime. An agency needs someone to be a secretary and another to be the leader's sidekick. But all three of you are going out into the field. Civilians Don't die and get in the way of gunfire. The Families The Mafia isn't supposed to be that big in London. And it can't erupt to be that big. The cops are well-armed and trained and have destroyed whole organized crime families, but it is the smart ones that tend to stay in power. Organized crime tends to follow the structure of the Italian Mafia (sans a special Asian family that controls triad groups rather than heads them). You need to be careful, and need to be strong when facing said groups... |
