Some friendly fire, for sure - Sera & Gali

Both for matters of time and nutrition Leyna opted for a nice juice that morning. Not to say that she could not plan out enough time to make a proper breakfast before a full day should she need to – that never happened – but based on what was set for that morning it seemed fitting. With her duffle packed beside her feet she placed the bits of grapefruit, strawberry, and apple before placing the cap on and holding it in place whilst the juicer did its work.

It was when she was pouring out the mixture into a travel cup that she sighed and looked back down the hall of the bedrooms. Galiena still wasn’t up. No surprise there, really, but that didn’t make Leyna roll her eyes any less. She’d reminded her last night twice through texts while the other was still out working. They were supposed to going to the gym today. This was pretty much a weekly outing for them and yet every single time Gali would still push it.
Today she couldn’t just whine at Leyna to put it off either. There was another person she would be inconveniencing if she did so. Sera may very well wave it off, but Leyna wouldn’t.

“Gali, are you going to get up?” She called, bending down to do another absentminded check through of her bag to make sure she had everything. Comfortable workout clothes to change into, towel, water, ID. While she was bent down she signed once more and looked to the golden retriever laying comfortably on a bed in the corner. “Estar, do you want to go wake her up?” She asked. Hearing her name the dog immediately stood and walked over to her happily.

Leyna nuzzled shortly into the fur of her neck, then pulled back to stroke at her head. “Alright, go get her. I’ll even let you jump on the furniture in this situation.” She grinned, giving her a slight nudge before she got the picture. Estar bounded off in the direction of Gali’s bedroom, excited for any reason to be allowed to jump right in the middle of someone's bed and - in addition - them.

It was not like Galiena made a conscious decision to stay up super late before work out days. She ran where her stories took her, and sometimes they tended to conflict with gym days. Earlier in the week she had picked up an interesting rumor about recent deaths among prostitutes due to apparently a new drug on the market. Every night since then she had been working the streets trying to find more evidence to support said rumor into fact. It was not her fault this interesting potential story happened to coincide with the week Sera decided to join them for gym day! So, okay, maybe she could have come home earlier in anticipation of Sera joining them. It had been a slow week so far and the likelihood of her getting a breakthrough with a couple of extra hours on the street were extremely unlikely, but Galiena could not bring herself to leave any sooner than she had the rest of the week. There was that outside chance that maybe, just maybe, she would have a breakthrough and get a real lead in those extra hours.

She didn't. But that was besides the point.

It was perhaps around four or five that she managed to get back to the apartment and then promptly crash on her bed. Sleep messed with her decision making, as she tried to explain to Leyna time and time again. It did not matter if her conscious mind wanted to do something, such as wake up on time to have a fun day at the gym with Leyna and Sera, if she was tired enough her sleep-deprived mind made decisions she did not agree with. Such as sleeping in when she should be getting ready for their outing.

Galiena was somewhat awake, at the point of slightly comprehending the words Leyna yelled to her, enough for her to ignore them and snuggle into her bundle of blankets. Getting up sounded so unappealing. She was just about to drift off completely again when her door creaked open. That was easy enough to ignore. The sudden weight of a fully grown golden retriever landing on her was not easy to ignore.

"Estar," she whined in protest as the dog walked over her to find her face and promptly started covering her in kisses. Galiena shoved her away and tucked her face under the blankets. Not to be deterred, Estar just pawed away the blankets and continued licking Galiena's face. "Leyna," was Galiena's next whine as she rolled to her side and hung her torso off her bed to keep her face away from Estar. "Really? Sic Estar on me? You're so mean."

The sleepily drawled whine was just what she wanted to hear. Leyna even grinned, despite how childish and perhaps even petty such a reaction seemed. They were sisters, though. There really could be little to no surprise at such interactions. What lack of the spite that may often arise between siblings was made up for with teasing between these two. Ah yes, the memories.

Really, Gali should’ve been happy Leyna didn’t dump schoolbags on her to wake her up as she used to for school. She shrugged as the thought occurred to her. Maybe next time. It was a thought though. Which was heavier, a schoolbag of textbooks or a case of tools and manuals… She may have to test that.

“Yes, really. I’m the evil fairy tale sister attacking you up with my minions.” Leyna spoke, loud enough to be heard from the bedrooms. Their apartment wasn’t especially large, so it wasn’t entirely that difficult. “Be happy I didn’t send all of them,” she said, quirking only a mild brow at the other two dogs still fast asleep in the living room. The German Shepherd, the Doberman, sprawled out on the floor and a dog bed respectively.

Estar always had been the more energetic one. When Leyna finally moved to the doorway of Gali’s bedroom the dog hopped down to shortly paw at the blondes leg. Leyna reassured her that she had done well by stroking at her head, smiling down at her shortly before looking up in continued petting. “We agreed that we would go with Sera today, remember? Do you want me to pack for you?” On most occasions Leyna would put up more of a fight for Gali to ready her own self before she caved and did most of it for her. She felt a bit more pressed for time knowing someone else was added to the equation this time around.
