[attr="class","aprh2"] YOU'RE MY FAVOURITE DRUG | Now of course, it was quite evident that she was new to this kind of business. It was a great idea, though— thefts were much easier if whoever else was involved was... conveniently knocked out. Unfortunately, though, people weren't that easy to knock out, especially people hired to guard something. She wasn't a great physical fighter (in fact, she probably wouldn't be able to last through an actual fist fight— wouldn't want to break a nail, would we?) and so knocking someone out simply meant that she had to use what limited knowledge she had about pressure points. Unfortunately, this was very limited, and besides, if it simply didn't work, she would have been caught red handed. Which is why she would much rather not be seen in the first place, but could she help it? With a bit of bribery, perhaps, but that would count as a loss. A great, great loss, given how great the amount of "pocket change" was to those people. Or she paid with the soothing of her words.
No matter, though. This was going to make it much better. Chemicals. Now of course, she could get her hands on some drugs down in the black market, but now that's dirtier business. Dirtier than stealing, and by now, she at least knew those types weren't going to be of any use. Pitiful bunch, really. No, she had decided to do this legitimately. Of course, it would seem quite suspicious: Why would the current leader of van Rosenfeld corporations need to buy chemicals? This is perhaps why she had decided to obtain the chemicals herself. She was certain that her order here at Maximantics wouldn't be turned a blind eye on... so why not some convincing? And besides, doing things legitimately saves so much trouble.
ORDER #13732 Amobarbital x1 (soporofic) Diazepam x1 (sedative) Alkyl Nitrates x1 (aphrodisiac) Cyanide x1 (poison) Hydroxocobalamin x1 (antidote) Vitamin C x1 (orange flavored) Probiotics x1 (chocolate flavored) Asprin x1 (waffle chocolate form)
She did expect a call regarding the order. And so instead, she was here at Maximantics, attempting to make certain that she would be able to get this whole shopping list into reality. That, my friend, would take a bit of convincing. she said to herself as she strode into the building. And convince she shall, she swore. She wasn't leaving this building empty-handed.
She walked towards the central information desk, the receptionist typing away quickly at a report. Charlotte cleared her throat and said "I would like to make an inquiry. I have ordered some chemicals from your establishment, and I would like to talk to the person who is in charge of my order."
"I could direct you to customer services or human resources if you have anything concerning the logistics of your purchase or any complaints on services."
Charlotte lowered her aviators "I think it would suffice for me to talk to the person who is to fill my order, if that is fine. The name is van Rosenfeld. Charlotte van Rosenfeld. I don't believe the person in charge of my order would mind a confrontation, would they?"
"Perhaps... so."
"Your scientists do not get very many confrontations anyways, I would imagine."
"Not really, though the usual formality is to make an appointment."
"Then perhaps this would change your mind?" she said, holding up a single £50 bill. "I trust he does not have any appointments."
"I can check for you," she said, clicking away quickly on the keyboard.
"Thank you, dear," she said with a smile, putting the bill next to the receptionist's coffee cup.
"The man you are looking for is sir Lukas Bondevik. His lab spans the whole 65th floor. You will require a card key, which are only for authorized personal... but I believe we can make an exception here."
She handed the card key to Charlotte. "This can be used on the elevator, but I believe it is best if you ring when you reach Bondevik's door— he's not too keen on visitors."
Charlotte took the card key and smiled at the receptionist woman. "Many thanks again, darling."
"If anything, I can give Bondevik a call to know you'll be coming up."
"That would be very nice, but even so, I'm certain he wouldn't be expecting this visit at all."
She smiled as she pivoted, her soft curls bouncing with every step. She didn't need to see the receptionist's reaction. Hopefully in a few hours, the receptionist wouldn't regret the decision too much. She held the card key in hand and swiped it at the elevator. She walked in, typing in with the key pad "6-5".
Mr. Bondevik, I do hope you would be a dear and comply. I could kill for a challenge trying to get this from you. I could do with a bottle of asprin right now... or a vial of aphrodisiac, whatever suits your taste.
She exited the elevator, and found herself in a long, single hallway, ending at a door. The floor seemed to be rather desolate, as if this lab were the only thing located in this floor.
Rather secluded man, I have to say.
She walked on towards the door and rang the bell and waited.
I do apologize for this interruption in your daily program, but I'm not leaving empty-handed, and you will give me just what I need.

As always, every day was a bother to go up, but at least he had his own little working schedule now when they didn't have any specific order that they all needed to work with together. Yet he wanted to get there on time so he didn't have to leave Eirík for too long at home during the evening and night, because he knew his brother would stay up too late to play, not do his homework, almost forgot taking his medicine and forget to eat as well. Luckily he loved his brother more than anything in the world. A love sigh as he scratched his neck and looked outside, it was raining, good, because he hated when the sun disturbed him as he worked, and he wasn't too found of having the blinds down either.
Going thorough his usual morning routine, making sure Eirík knew he had food, took his medicine, and all that jazz together. He was on his third cup of coffee when he realised he better get going or else he would never be home. Throwing the rest of the coffee down in a travel mug that he could drink on his way to the lab; so he could get his proper fill of his beloved coffee.
This day was too ordinary, both in a boring and a reassuring way as he greeted the receptionist, showed his ID card so he could access the building, as he swept it in to the elevator to get inside, and rode all the way up to his floor, the one he lately had all to himself because he was the only one who was so focused on finding cures to all kind of different diseases, especially the one that infected his brother.
He had finished his coffee before he went inside, as he put it away and washed his hands, putting on his labcoat to not ruin his clothes, and a pair of goggles and gloves on top of that, and then he was ready to go and try to see if the sample had gotten any reactions during the night.
Which it hadn't, nothing at all, so he decided to let that test be left alone to see how it would develop over a weeks time, even if he was sometimes too impatient and wanted a result right away, he knew better than to hurry or be too impatient, he might miss something important, so he just took some notes instead for it, and placed the book next to the locker where he kept it.
As he was in the middle of taking samples from a tissue he had gotten from the hospital, he heard the phone ring into the room. He was still for a moment to listen if he had heard it correctly, which he had, it was very rarely they called to this phone from the reception, unless they where to evacuate the building, or someone wanted to kill them. Sighing, he put down the sample carefully to not harm it, and the gloves as well, heading for the phone to answer it.
"Lukas Bondevik."
The receptionist voice was smooth, and calm despite that he knew how she could be on bad days. "A woman, heading up here? Ja, sure." Just shrugging, not taking too bigger notice of it as he was always prepared of course. "Yes, thank you, and have a good day." Going back to his locker to pick up the gun he always kept there for emergency situations, and made sure it was safe before putting it under his labcoat for easy access in case it was someone unwanted, at least he had a license to carry that around.
Stiffen, he walked to the door, as he took a deep breath and opened the door, and was quite surprised by what was on the other side of the door. His dull face didn't show off how surprised he was over seeing the petite little girl on the other side of the door, rather cute and innocent looking. Standing in the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest while looking down on her. "Can I help you, miss?"
(Sorry it took time, had to change my training schedule completely so suddenly so I've been caught up in that.. And I'm still too lazy to fix a design (Me and html does not go together at all.) Please don't sue me!)

[attr="class","aprh2"] YOU'RE MY FAVOURITE DRUG | She was somewhat surprised at the person who opened the door. With these scientific types, there was the recurring theme of ages going towards the elderly, whitened hair, never getting out of the lab, and not being remotely attractive. It seemed this one was still quite young and his hair is simply a light blonde. But perhaps the never seeing the light of day was true if he had the whole floor to himself. And perhaps he could be considered attractive, if not for the dull look in his eyes.
And perhaps it was also surprising that she finally connected the name and the face. She did read up on her economics and business papers to be able to talk of recent events and be able to join in with intellectual circles. Lukas Bondevik had ties with Maximantics. Specifically, this would eventually be his company, or his more-known younger brother, Eirik Steilsson, would inherit. That is, if Steilsson lived long enough. Given some of the gossip she had heard at a recent soiree at another company, Progressive Royal Pharmecutical (which is ironically a competitor of Maximantics), Steilsson probably won't live past his 20th birthday anyways. She was going to take that as a grain of salt— they did have their diatribes with Maximantics, but she had to believe just a bit of it. This meant, though, that the man right in front of her was important. And so perhaps she would have to be, ah, a bit careful with her words, so to speak.
He didn't look like the charismatic type, so to say. She would go with a different face this time, with a different approach than she went with the receptionist. Bribing him was probably not going to be as effective if he had his own money.
"Can I help you, miss?"
"You are Mr. Bondevik, I presume? If so, I would like a word with you," she said, keeping a friendly, polite tone. She would have to gauge the conversation to know which edge to go with. "You see, I placed an order a while ago... Is it okay if I come in? I certainly hope I'm not being a bother, since the receptionist Miss Winston told me that you have this floor to yourself!"
She took off her trench coat and placed it on the coat hanger right outside his door, patting away nonexistent dust from the outside.
"But yes, I would like to talk business today. I believe you are familiar with my order. If not, I have a copy of it with me, and I would like to discuss the nature of my order."
Today, she decided, she would go with "all-business". She would have to go with being a negotiator. If he decided to go on the argumentative, she had some stories up her sleeves. Hopefully he enjoyed a bit of sentimentality and perhaps some exaggeration. If anything, she could tell he was somewhat surprised that she was at his door. |

Lukas was not even surprised that this lady might know his name; a lot of people did, while he had no idea who they might be. It was like a daily routine for him by now, especially when he had to meet up with people at work, or in the same branch he was working for. This lady was no exception, he had never seen her in his entire life, he was clever enough to recognise the people he at least had one conversation with, and yet he didn't change his face when he looked at her.
Satisfied that he didn't have to say anything to keep the conversation going, she was doing it fine by herself, and Lukas let her do that as well. "An order, you say?" A eyebrow arched, giving her a questioning look by her words, wondering what she meant by that. He didn't get 'orders' sent to him, he was working in a lab, trying to find a cure to his brothers illness, among with trying other stuff and see the effects of it, he wasn't running some goddamn business with dangerous chemicals.
Apparently she had made up her mind as well, considering that she was undressing.
The girl, or well, lady maybe, wasn't bad-looking, rather the opposite, with a cute face and her petite body appealed the Norwegian as well, even if he didn't give out compliments like that out of the blue. "I think you have to show me that.. Order of yours. I am not a drugstore, those do we have out on the streets, I'm a chemist, I create and destroy, I don't sell stuff for personal use."
He could sell to companies thou, if they where deemed as safe.
Yet he was quite amused why she came here with an order out of the blue. He was prepared for anything that she might give him, some hardship or whatever, and simply stepped aside to show her inside. As soon she had entered the room, he closed the door and locked it behind her and went up to one of the tables where he was usually writing his reports by the end of the day, pulling a chair from another table to that desk so she could sit by him, as he sat down on his own chair. He didn't have to pretend to look or act professional, he was that already, so he didn't have to give her some bullshit.
"May I see that.. 'Order' of yours then? And a good explanation why you would come to me out of everyone to get this valid." This could surely be entertaining.
If she knew him, she surely knew about his status and most of his story as well. Not all of it, Lukas own history had been a secret to the media and publicity since everything had happened. His brother on other hand, his history was just as open as Ian McKellen was gay, which was pretty much. So she couldn't threaten him nor his brother, he could get around that, maybe if she was entertaining enough...
