INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless Elizaveta usually did not like Mihai Chimet.
She generally regarded him as a cocky bastard who believed he could get just about anything with a wink or a smile. And maybe for the most part that was true, but Elizaveta had never believed him. He was very well aware of his status, his appearance, and his words. Too perfect, for the most part, for Elizaveta to even both believing. She didn't trust him, not in the least. It was his job to make people like him and trust him, which therefore almost automatically made him someone that wasn't trustworthy.
If it hadn't been for the good pay, Elizaveta would never have bothered coming to his house more than once or twice. The first time had been alright, but she'd quickly learned to dislike the man. She really couldn't quite put her finger on why she disliked him so. Not that she really cared why. He just seemed to rub her the wrong way.
She didn't really know what Mihai thought of her, nor did she really care. Elizaveta went there and did her job. That was it. Mihai's house was always messy, which meant more work. She preferred going there when he wasn't around, allowing her to do her work without being annoyed.
Then there was Andrei. Elizaveta actually liked Andrei. He was a nice kid, easy to get along with and fun to talk to. Sure, he was Mihai's little brother which had made Elizaveta a little biased in her perception of him at first, but he was so very different from Mihai. He might resemble his brother a little (certainly Elizaveta was sure the boy was a good liar), but he was a lot easier to get along with than Mihai for one reason or another.
...Not to mention, he was absolutely and totally fine with pulling pranks on Mihai. Which was what they were getting ready to do today. They hadn't made very concise plans, but Elizaveta usually found Andrei's plans to get back at his brother thoroughly entertaining. Maybe they would dye his dress shirts a certain color or hide random items away in unknown corners of the house. Just small things. Even though Elizaveta held little love for Mihai, she wasn't going to interfere with his work. Too much.
Elizaveta reached the house and knocked twice before letting herself in. Setting her bag down, she looked around the house. God, it was messy, but what else did she expect? Obviously Mihai hadn't had company over for a while. Maybe he was doing something tonight. That was usually why he had her clean.
Where was Andrei? Elizaveta couldn't see him. Finally, she called out for him. "Hey, Andrei, you around?" | words 454 tags notes We never really agreed on a prank, so I wasn't sure what to say. >> Sorry it took so long. |

Long weekends were possibly the worst times in Andrei’s life. On one hand, he didn’t really need to go to university and attend any possibly boring as hell lesson, but on the other, he did grow exponentially bored by the hour, and a bored Andrei would more often than not result in tears and an empty bottle of hard alcohol.
But not when Mihai was home.
When big brother is around, Andrei needs to occupy himself. And by occupying, it often ends up meaning destruction and chaos in Andrei’s own ways. On that particular day, it meant to mess with Mihai’s stuff.
Early that morning, he had taken over the laundry chores. It should have been harmless enough, ever since the brothers decided to more or less split the house’s easier chores between themselves (and the heavier ones would stay with the maid). The plan was to just dye Mihai’s perfectly white work shirts the most obnoxious shades Andrei could find. They came out from the dyestuff bright magenta, sky blue and lime green, and the young boy. He had even managed to get Mihai’s favorite in a lovely heart shaped tye-dye effect.
That ought to teach Mihai to bring Burger King in when Andrei specifically asks for McDonalds. Ugh, Andrei, it's a fucking nugget, they all taste the same, deal with it, Mihai had said. He didn’t understand. How was the man supposed to handle grand government plans if he couldn’t carry out the simplest orders by his favorite brother?
Andrei did what any grown adult would do, he made a mental note not to speak with Mihai for the rest of the week and locked himself in the room. Which also meant to slip out of the room soundlessly to gather all kinds of ingredients for the perfect get back at his brother, starting with the laundry and proceeding with a bunch of assorted household items.
He smiled when he heard the front door click open, however, coming out of the room to greet the woman coming in. Andrei happily explained; “Liz! Come in, I was catching up on some school shit.”
Meanwhile, he also gestured her to follow him, putting a finger so she understand he was trying to be secretive. To disguise their shenanigans, Andrei also announced, loud enough so it could be heard all over the house. “Brother, Liz is here.”

A loud clatter sounded as the receiver fell back into place. Mihai let out a frustrated sound, something between a sigh and growl, leaning back into his chair and running a hand through his hair. He was supposed to have had a few days off from work ('days off' being a euphemism for 'take all of your paperwork home and do it there'), but he'd just been informed that the Home Office representative was absolutely insisting on an earlier meeting date. Which meant that he had to turn everything in sooner, and that his well-earned holiday was being cut mercilessly short. Damn fucking bureaucrat-types. He hated this line of work and he hated everything remotely involved with it. Goddamn, his internal monologue was even starting to sound like one of those miserable, overworked white-collars who weren't even remotely satisfied with their life choices, and frankly that was just sad. He shuddered to think that those people actually did this stuff for a living. At least for him, it was only for a little while longer. A genuine sigh escaped him this time when he propped his elbows up on the desk and dropped his head into his hands. Just a little while longer and he would be free and he swore to God he was never touching another sheet of paperwork again and he would put himself on permanent holiday in like, the Bahamas or something. But at the moment, he had the impending paperwork to do, which the Home Office had so graciously given him so much time to work on, what with the earlier deadline and all. The details were in his briefcase, which was sitting comfortably at the foot of his desk about an arms-length away. He looked down at the object in question and calculated the amount of energy that must be expended to reach down and retrieve it. He didn't get an exact number, but the overall result amounted to 'not worth the goddamn effort,' which worked well enough for him. He chose to stare blankly at the opposite wall instead. He'd been beginning to become particularly engrossed in studying the physics of the streams of smoke from the candles on the windowsill when he heard Andrei call out from the floor below. Mihai acknowledged his announcement with a "greeeaaat," which he said to himself with as much fake enthusiasm as he could muster, then simply lowered his head onto the desk. After Andrei being a petulant little shit and not speaking to him for a week over fucking chicken nuggets, and the first words Andrei said to him were to declare their housekeeper's arrival. Elizaveta—exactly what Mihai needed right now. He stared at the flickering flame of the candle and wondered if he just stayed up there and locked himself in whether she would deign it worth her effort to harass him. After a moment, he frowned. He knew that Andrei and Elizaveta got along well. Too well, in his opinion, as though having a hellion for a little brother wasn't enough and he needed a friend to mess things up with ('things' mostly meaning Mihai's things). Mihai finally sat up again, tapping one colored fingernail against the wooden desk as he contemplated the possibilities of leaving the two of them alone together, especially after Andrei had decided to throw a tantrum worthy of an eight year-old child. Wasn't it also his turn to do the laundry loads this week—? Suddenly, Mihai was very wary of leaving Elizaveta and Andrei together. Call it gut feeling or the simple notion of knowing his little brother really damn well, but he knew this was likely not going to end well. He spun halfway around in his office chair and stared hard at the door, hoping that such a gesture would will away whatever uncouth ideas Elizaveta and Andrei were probably brewing. But to stop them meant actually going down and checking up on them, and possibly having to deal with another rant about the differences between Burger King and McDonald's (there was fucking none), and he was just not up to that. He spun the chair back around the way it came and his head went back onto the desk. He needed sleep. Or a drink. Or someone willing to fuck his brains out. Or, really, all three, not necessarily simultaneously and not necessarily in that order. not exactly sure what you guys need from me so,, just,, leaves this here???

INFINITY (n.) the state of being limitless Andrei's door opened and Elizaveta's smile only widened. "Liz! Come in, I was catching up on some school shit."
Elizaveta made her way in easily. If Andrei was here, they could chat while Elizaveta tidied everything up. And also...Elizaveta felt the tiniest smirk come onto her face as Andrei gestured for her to follow him while putting a finger to his lips. Perfect. Elizaveta knew Andrei well enough to know when he had something up his sleeve. Of course, they had to act within certain boundaries. But other than that, they were free to do whatever they liked. Mihai held a certain tolerance for Andrei (she still hadn't completely figured out their relationship) so that was always interesting. It also generally kept Elizaveta out of trouble.
"Brother, Liz is here," Andrei called. There was a pause before a reply came from upstairs. "Greeeaaat." Elizaveta snorted quietly. The fake enthusiasm in Mihai's voice was unbelievable. The great politician indeed. Elizaveta wouldn't say that she hated Mihai, but she did take pleasure in harassing him. Her own little gift to humanity, knocking Mihai down a few pegs when she visited.
If anyone ever thought Elizaveta was a kind, endearing saint, they were very, very wrong.
Elizaveta paused to survey Andrei and Mihai's house. Even if she did want to participate in whatever Andrei had planned, she did have to do her job at one point or another. What did Mihai even need her to do this time? She'd ask Andrei...and only bother with consulting Mihai himself if Andrei didn't know. She supposed she'd tidy up the kitchen (whoever had let Mihai keep house with Andrei must've been blind; the kitchen was brimming with takeout boxes), sweep and vacuum and then...well, she'd see, wouldn't she?
Elizaveta made her way towards Andrei easily. "So, Andrei," Elizaveta said with a smile. "How have things been? Do you know if you brother wants me to do anything in particular?" She was curious as to what Andrei had planned but it was best to get this sort of thing out of the way before anything else.
When Elizaveta was certain that Mihai wasn't coming down and they were out of earshot, she smiled mischievously at Andrei. "Did you have anything interesting in mind?" | words 379 tags Andrei, Mihai notes - |
