TAKE THESE BROKEN WINGS AND LEARN TO FLY |
When the time came she was not required for any actual work, Natalia decided she would find somewhere new to reside for now. She tried to avoid the main bustle of London, not wanting to get caught up in any crowds or end up bumping into people she'd rather not talk to (which usually included everyone), so she sought out little shortcuts or less populated alleys she could use to traverse by instead. Her pace was slow, since she didn't need to get to a specific destination anytime soon, and all of her little things and devices were resting in a small bag tucked under her arm.
She didn't take walks around the city often, but sometimes it wasn't as bad as she had presumed. Pollution and the general noisiness of people aside, she rather liked hearing about all the action that was going on. The crimes, the murders, the scandals.. it was much more interesting than what went on back in her home city, at least, though it did always make her worry about where her siblings currently were. That feeling came to surface often, knowing that either of them could be in trouble while she wasn't anywhere near them.. Though she had faith in them, enough that she could push those thoughts away and force herself not to worry. Worrying all the time would be a distraction, after all, and would deter her from concentrating on her work. She would hear from both her brother and her sister soon, she just knew it.
Her hands were tucked into the pockets of her jacket as she approached somewhere new, glancing up to find more groups of people gathered around the well-known lake. It was certainly a rare occurrence that she ever came here, though she did like this more ..in-tune with nature section of the city, more peaceful than most other areas. She would never come for socializing or swimming with anyone, of course, though the park did seem like a suitable place to be on her own and think. She crossed over until reaching a lone tree, making sure no one had claimed it already (well, even if someone did, this was her spot now), before seating herself down on the soft grass.
She leaned back against the trunk of the tree, hands fishing through her bag to pull out a book and her MP3 player. Music blared from the buds tucked into her ears, book propped up on her lap as she opened up to a random page. Misery by Stephen King. As much as she'd love to read a good thriller such as this, she wasn't paying any attention to the words right now. Her hands were busy instead with the other tools she had pulled out, casually sharpening her favorite knife behind the veil of book pages - and although she wouldn't exactly mind if someone caught her doing this, she was still keeping a cold lookout for anyone who might dare to approach her.
