[cs=3] Personality | ||
[cs=3] Silent: She doesn't speak unless spoken to. She won't waste her breath unless she knows someone will listen and actually care what she says. Why should she waste her time speaking if someone doesn't want to spend their own time to hear her out? Besides, they came to her for a reason. There should be no excuses for not paying attention to her. Strong-Willed: She doesn't give up easily, nor does she get worn down mentally all that easy either. As much as a patient will scream and shout at her, she'll just sit and wait until their fit is over until trying to move the session further. Brave: She doesn't let any fears she has get in the way of getting something done. It wouldn't do her, or anyone, good if she were to back down from a challenge. She's there to help and nothing more. If they don't like it, they are always welcome to leave. Understanding: If someone told her their problem, she could see how they felt. Sure, she probably doesn't know, or hasn't experienced, how it felt, but she could imagine it and try to go from there. She can see their situation, and based on the information she was given, try to give the best advice she could that would receive the best results. Stubborn: She doesn't change her opinions easily. Once she has a a certain thought, it will stay there. If someone were to try to talk her out of her beliefs, she'll just believe them anymore than listen to the person. Anyone who tries to use reverse-psychology on her will just go nowhere. Blunt: She hates "beating around the bush". If she has something to say, she'll say it. She's not afraid of how others may take what she says. Besides, being a psychologist, you can't really afford to skim around topics. Telling it to them straight is the best option, since sugar-coating would be too much. "Cold-Hearted": She doesn't let any of her personal feelings get in the way of what she's doing. She doesn't express any emotions when on the job, or out and about. Well, usually. There are times she might give a reassuring smile and a soft hug, but that's just about it. She tries not to get her emotions in the way, since she has to be focusing on her patient's and now her own. Logical: She thinks things through, as opposed to rushing into things. She listens, thinks, asks a few questions, then use the information she has to try to give her patients the best solution. Melancholic: She focuses more on the past than on the present or future. There have been a few cases where her aid only served to make her patients seem worse, until they finally couldn't take it anymore. She wonders why she couldn't help them, what she did wrong, what she could have done differently. That's why she always asks so many questions, so she can make sure she doesn't make the same mistakes as she did before. Serious: She doesn't like childish actions, usually when their from grown people. She won't stand such foolishness. If it was a kid, though, she would be a bit more forgiving, since a child is kind of supposed to be childish...though, she can't help if her patients are childish by nature. | ||
Likes | Hates | Fears |
Music: She mostly enjoys rock, and occasionally pop. Her all time favorite is metal, which got it's name from being harder than rock. All jokes aside, she loves getting lost in the sound. She finds it rather calming, though the genres she likes most people would find annoying. Books: She loves reading in her free time. She likes how a novel can be a ticket to a different place, far away from her London and whatever problem she has at the time. It's an escape from herself. She can be an omniscient presence, watching the acts of the characters play out before her. Foxes: They're cute creatures, that she has to admit. People see them as sneaky and sly, but she finds them cute and playful. Just misunderstood, nothing more. Oh, if only she had enough to buy one of those domesticated ones... That probably won't happen, judging on how she doesn't have that sort of cash on her at the moment. Pocket Watches: She thinks they're pretty cool, and a nice wristwatch could cause someone to try to jump her for it. Besides, they can have really nice designs, and no one really has them nowadays. Swimming: She loves the ocean, the smell of salt, the feel of sand under her feet. Above all, she loves letting herself go and taking a swim. It's relaxing in away, since it's as though the water washes away all her problems away for the time being. It's nice to have a clear mind for once. RomComs: They're just so cheesy and funny, how can one not like them? Sometimes she'll spend an evening having a marathon of movies, eating popcorn and cuddling her small, stuffed moose she's had since she was a little girl. She wouldn't admit she enjoys the movie genre, since it is a bit embarrassing in a way. Video Games: Not the violent ones. She prefers the ones that make you have to think, like the Portal series and Qube. She loves puzzles, and those serve as a well enough distraction at times. Vikings: It's something that rubbed off from her father. He had an obsession with them. She went to bed hearing of pillaging and plundering, with the occasional voyage of Lief Erikson. They sort of grew on her, so to speak. If someone were to closely look around her office, they can find books about them to a mini replica of one of their ships. | Unnecessary Violence: She knows sometimes fighting is necessary, but she hates when it isn't. Why should people get dragged into it when they have no business there? No one should get hurt because of it, especially if it's over something stupid. Romantic Problems: This is the least favorite thing to give advice about. Usually people think she's lying or will disregard her advice entirely and come back to cry when everything goes to hell in their relationship. She tries to help, but when it comes to love they turn the blind eye and her aid is tossed aside. Complaints: Whining is one of the things you shouldn't do around her. She will make you regret your complaining one way or another. Whether it's by ranting, or some sort of physical means, she will find a way. So if you have any sort of problem, you can voice it, she won't devoid you of your right of free speech. Just have a good reason as to why you have that problem. "I don't feel like it", "It seems impossible", or the like will not be appreciated. Uncomfortable Clothing: Tight clothes were never her friend. They're heard to breathe in, shows more than she would like, and make her curves seem more...curvy. She'd rather were pants over booty shorts any day. If she was forced to wear a skin-hugging shirt, she would just wear a sweater over it. Hairless Cats: They're just...ew. How can people like the things? They're bald and all wrinkly. It's weird and a bit creepy. She can tolerate them, but never would she own one. Besides, they are too much of a hassle to own. Poetry: She just doesn't like how overemotional, vague, and sometimes confusing, they can be. She had a patient that wrote more depressing ones, which she would have to listen to. Poor thing thought her angst filled stanzas were good... Viktoria didn't have the heart to tell her that it was actually possible to be in space for about 2 minutes without protection, if there was immediate help. Horror Films: Some of them are terrible she won't even spend her time on them, others tend to leave her hiding under her jacket. She is frightened very easily by things like psycho killers and supernatural happenings. Mostly the former, since murders happen every now and then in London. Dancing: She practically has two-left feet. As graceful as she may appear, she can't dance. At all. She won't even bother trying, since she's bound to end up face-down on the floor. Any man who tries to dance with her, be wary of her possibly stepping on your feet....and frequently, at that. | Hurting Someone Close to Her: She doesn't want to end up being the reason her loved ones die. She has seen too much death, and she won't be able to stand so see another. She only gives advice, but whether or not others follow out her suggestions, she can't control. All she can do is hope they do, and that her advice was for the best. Being a Parent: She doesn't think she would be a good parent, at all. She's far too busy, and she would probably treat the kid as more of a patient than her own child. She can imagine how it would feel for a kid, for their mother to speak to them as one of the people she helps "get better". She doesn't like it, not one bit. Being Alone: This is more in the emotional sense as opposed to the physical one. She can be in a room of people and still feel alone, like no one wants to be with her or waste their time on her. She doesn't want to emotionally distance herself away from others, though at times it seems like that's all she ever does at times. |

[cs=3] History |
[cs=3] Viktoria was born in Norway, though soon after her parents had moved to London. She grew up in the city, though when she reached the age of 4 her parents made sure to visit their relatives in Norway during the summer. Her parents taught her Norwegian at home, though she picked up English from hearing it around her. She did well at school, but she didn't have many friends. She was a bit of an outsider. She never quite belonged to any of the small cliques around her. That went on throughout most of her school life. She was the loner, sitting in the corner of the classroom, reading a book. She was never invited to parties, she was picked on from time to time. She got used to it by now, building a wall around her to keep others out. Though, one day, a boy had come up to her. He was a kind thing, always smiling. At first, Viktoria ignored him and hoped he would go away. He didn't. Instead, the other only tried to get to know her harder. It took a while, but she finally agreed to become friends with him. She was shocked, since the boy seemed to be very happy. The two spent all their time together. They went to the park, went lurking around bookstores, they even sat next to each other in every class they shared. It was nice, finally having someone to call a friend. At some point, Viktoria had to help him study since the poor thing was drowning in bad grades. Slowly, the other began to pick them up and the Norwegian was glad. One could even say she developed feelings for him. That happiness didn't last for long. It was their junior year of high school, one day the boy just didn't show up. She thought nothing of it at first, but then his absence got longer and she began to suspect something. Next thing she knew, the teacher finally announced the boy's death. Viktoria was so upset she stood up and stormed out of the classroom, not glancing at anyone around her. The months that followed were heartbreaking. People around her acted as if they knew him better than she did. They never saw him smiling at a rainy day, they never comforted him when he cried over small things, they didn't know anything. They were fakes, they were posers, Viktoria hated them all. She began to distance herself once more, but now it hurt to. She wanted someone to be her friend, but no one gave her a second glance. She was once more invisible. It hurt, being surrounded by people but feeling as if she had no one but herself. She trudged on, not letting her grief bring her down. The pain only served to make her more determined to get through it all. She passed high school with flying colors and got a scholarship to a few different colleges. She continued her studies to be a psychologist, since she wanted to help people with their problems. She graduated college and soon found a job at the hospital, which she still happily has. The patients that come to her were difficult at first, but they slowly opened up to her. They sort of grown on her, so to speak. She enjoys seeing new faces, since it means that it's another session that she would have to try to help them. New faces are a smaller joy, since she doesn't know how long she would aid them and when they will leave. Well, leave without a true final session. She has seen a few end up that way, each one just as painful as the last. She keeps on going on, not letting her failure make her stop. It's just fuel that keeps her going, and only motivates her to do better. Currently, she has been having a bit of financial trouble, since she's trying to get over a severe case of identity theft. Gah, if only the bank had notified it sooner, then it wouldn't be as bad as it already was. She had changed not only her card, but banks as well. She couldn't entirely trust the one she had, since they took forever to even bring up their suspicions. She also has began taking lessons to play the violin. She rather likes the sound of the instrument, so she thought it would be nice to actually know how to play it. She's making progress...slowly, but it's still some sort of progress. Far better than when she attempted to learn piano, where in a fit of frustration she closed the cover for the keys on her instructor's fingers. She didn't mean to! It was an accident! |
